Disney Fan Friday – Sweet Treats at Disney World
If you have a major sweet tooth like me, you may be wondering where the best places at the Walt Disney World Resort are to satisfy our hankering. As you can imagine, there are more special treats in Disney World than you can count. Giant ice cream sundaes, gourmet candy apples, mouth-watering cupcakes, milkshakes, cookies, churros, Mickey Mouse ice cream bars … the list is endless! I could spend all day tempting your taste buds, but in order to keep things simple, I’ve decided to list five favorites for you.
#1 Dole Whip
Dole Whip is by far the most popular Disney Treat among the regulars. If you know a Disney lover, I’m sure they can tell you all about this delicious soft-serve pineapple treat. It is incredibly refreshing on a warm day, and it is also available as a Dole Whip Float – delicious pineapple soft-serve, served on top of pineapple juice. YUM! Dole Whip lovers are rejoicing because Disney World has expanded the number of locations offering this treat. You can now find it in the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Located right at the end of Main Street in Disney’s Magic Kingdom, is the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. The Parlor serves up delicious hand-dipped ice cream, and best of all – the Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich. Your choice of ice cream, stuffed between two giant homemade chocolate chip cookies. It doesn’t get much better than this. Recently I was in the park for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary-Halloween Party and splurged on the sandwich made with two large homemade sugar cookies decorated with Halloween sprinkles. Oh, how I miss it!
#3 Bread Pudding at O’Hana
The fun experience and delicious food at the O’Hana restaurant makes it a favorite of mine. Just when you think things can’t get any better, your server will bring to your table a giant serving of warm Bread Pudding with Bananas Foster Sauce. I can’t even describe how delicious it is, topped with a generous scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream. It doesn’t matter how stuffed you are from dinner, there is always room for this decadent bread pudding!
#4 Dad’s Brownie Sunday at 50’s Prime Time Café
This simple and nostalgic dessert really makes me feel like a kid. Who doesn’t love a brownie sundae? This fudgy moist brownie is topped with vanilla ice cream, M&M’s, LOTS of whipped cream, sprinkles and caramel corn. Yes, you read that correctly…caramel corn! I thought it was an odd topping but it proved to be delicious.
#5 Crème Brulee at California Grill
I had the pleasure of dining at California Grill last fall, and it was truly one of the best culinary experiences I have ever known. Every bite, from beginning to end, was nothing short of amazing. I’m not a Crème Brulee connoisseur, but I can tell you that this dessert was heavenly. If the restaurant were not so classy, I probably would have licked my plate. It definitely left me wanting more!
So are you ready to try these for yourself? Don’t just take my word for it, you need to experience this list NOW, in addition to many treats that I didn’t have time to talk about in this blog. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit my Facebook page. Let’s start planning!
