How long has it been since you have been to Universal Orlando? That long! Well it is time for you to come see how it has changed. Universal Orlando has great on site resorts to fit any budget and style. I just love them! They each have fabulous theming, a variety of dining choices, many recreational activities and amazing pools! If you know anything about me you know I love a great pool! By staying on property you also get some great park benefits for all three Universal Orlando theme parks, which include: Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure and the new Universal’s Volcano Bay. So let’s take a look into some of the reasons I believe you should stay at a Universal Orlando Resort.
1. Location, Location, Location!
Loews Portofino Bay, Universal’s Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Loews Sapphire Falls and Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort are all on Universal Orlando property. The best part is that they are all within walking distance of each other and to all three Universal parks; and don’t forget Universal City Walk! That’s within walking distance too! Also if you’re anything like me when on vacation I like to venture out and see the town. Universal is very close to other major Orlando attractions and to International Drive. There is so much to see and do you will need me to help you plan it all!
The Hard Rock Hotel is the closest to Universal Studios Park – just a few steps away! Loews Royal Pacific Resort is the closest to Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort is the one closest to the new Universal Volcano Bay water park and it has its own private entrance. If you are staying at any one of the Universal resorts you can use this waterpark entrance as an extra perk.
2. Hotel Room Types
I have so many people tell me the room does not matter because they won’t be in it that much any way. Well room size does matter to me. I like to be comfortable on vacation, not cramped! It all depends on how you like to travel. I like to have plenty of room to move around in and when I come back from a long day at the parks I want to sit and relax and not be crammed into a small room. Myself, I love to have a great view for my morning coffee or a late night drink. There are many different types of rooms at Universal Resorts. The standard rooms range from 300 square feet to 450 square feet. Cabana Bay also has family suites that are 430 square feet. All resorts except Cabana Bay have Deluxe Level rooms that are larger than standard rooms and offer slightly better views. You can even upgrade to a Club Level room and enjoy extra privileges such as access to a private lounge, free access to the fitness centers, continental breakfast and hors d’oeuvres. They also offer several Luxury Suite options.
I mentioned above the Family suites at Cabana Bay. Family suites are at least 430 square feet and offer kitchenettes with microwaves and mini-fridges, two queen beds and a full sofa bed. Additionally, Cabana Bay now has a limited number of 2-bedroom, 2 full bathrooms, and 772-square feet family suites that sleep up to 8 guests. Many offer views of Universal’s Volcano Bay. These are great for the larger family!
3. Universal Orlando Hotel Amenities:
Loews Portofino Bay Hotel has three pools, a spa and fitness center, jogging and walking paths, eight dining options, on-site entertainment, a Starbucks, recreation opportunities such as bocce ball courts, a game room, and children’s activities.
Loews Royal Pacific Resort has one lagoon-themed pool with poolside activities, a fitness center, on-site entertainment, six dining options, children’s activities and a weekly dining event, WANTILAN LUAU.
Hard Rock Hotel has a 12,000-square-foot ROCKIN’ POOL (with underwater music and waterslide), a fitness center, jogging and walking paths, six dining options and children’s activities.
Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort has two massive feature pools, a water slide, a lazy river, a children’s water play area with poolside activities, a BOWLING ALLEY, a fitness center, a Starbucks and an array of cuisine at its onsite restaurant.
All of the hotels offer valet parking and all rooms are equipped with a refrigerator.
BEST THING! When staying on property you can POOL HOP! Yes you can go to any one of the resorts and use their pool! How cool is that?
4. Early Park Admission:
All of the official Universal Orlando hotels offer Early Park Admission to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (at either Universal Studios Florida or Universal’s Islands of Adventure) and Universal’s Volcano Bay one hour before park opening. You must have a valid ticket for the parks to get in. This is a great way to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter before it gets too crowded. I love this perk!
5. Free Universal Express Unlimited:
You can’t beat this perk! At select Universal Orlando hotels that include Loews Royal Pacific, Loews Portofino Bay and Universal’s Hard Rock, all offer guests Universal Express Unlimited. This allows you to bypass the regular lines at the participating rides at Universal Studios and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Universal Express Unlimited is valid for your entire length of stay, including days of check-in and check-out, and there is no limit to the number of times you use it. You get your Universal Express Unlimited pass by inserting your hotel room key into one of the hotel kiosks. If you are staying at one of the other resorts on property, or off-site, you would have to purchase this at an additional cost.
I cannot overstate the value of Universal Express Unlimited. This skip-the-line perk is one of the best ways—if not THE best way—to experience the parks. If you know you will need or want Universal Express pass, it is almost always more economical to stay on-site at one of these hotels that include Express Unlimited than to stay off-site and purchase these passes separately.
When you are a guest of Universal Orlando hotels you can also take advantage of free transportation to and from Universal Studios, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Universal’s Volcano Bay and Universal CityWalk. There are two forms of complimentary transportation: water taxis and shuttle buses. When your legs are tired of walking, free transportation is a life-saver!
In addition to the six reasons mentioned above, there are still a few more! These include resort-wide charging privileges with your room key card and priority seating at select restaurants throughout both Universal Orlando theme parks and Universal CityWalk. As you can see there are many great reasons to stay on property at Universal Orlando. If you would like more information or would like a quote for your next getaway please contact me.
