A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes

By: Juli RussI have dreamed for years about helping families plan magical trips to Disney! I have also spent quite a bit of time looking for a place to make my dreams a reality. This summer while planning my recent Disney Cruise, I got the bug again and began making a few inquiries with little success until another agent suggested Wishes Family Travel. I didn’t contact Wishes right away, but soon after our return from the cruise I sent a message. I’m extremely grateful that I did!It seemed to be perfect timing as I was told that there would be a new agent class starting soon. I was able to speak to Rebecca about her experience as an agent before starting the application process. It was nice to hear firsthand how Wishes is a supportive group of women who work hard for their clients. I loved hearing how encouraging all the agents are of each other and how helpful everyone is whenever there is a question or problem.I took a leap of faith, filled out the application, spoke to Becky, spoke to Susan, spoke to Shellie and cried when I was told by Shellie “we’d like to offer you a contract!” I was so excited and couldn’t wait to get started learning all about Wishes and learn everything I could about Disney! I enjoyed the interactive nature of the classes, being able to use the tools provided as we were learning about them. The College of Disney Knowledge was a wealth of information, as are all the videos in the Disney Course Library.There was a lot to learn in a short period of time, but Shellie and Becky did a wonderful job of teaching everything we needed to know and showing us where to find answers to our questions. There was homework after each training session that honestly took quite a bit of time. I’m grateful for it as well as the feedback on each assignment; it will help me have productive conversations with potential clients andwrite concise, accurate quotes.I also learned an incredible amount from my mentor, Sarah. She not only taught me what I have to know, she exemplified what a concierge agent is and how I want to approach all areas of my new business.
