A Few Tips for Enjoying the Holidays at Universal Orlando Resort

Anna Trosper1.28.2020Have you been thinking about going somewhere fun for the holidays? Then I have the place for you! When it comes to the holidays, Universal Orlando Resort really knows how to celebrate. From Grinchmas at Universal's Islands of Adventure where Seuss Landing is filled with Whos from Whoville to Universal's Holiday Parade featuring Macy's, there is no shortage of holiday cheer. Plus, you can celebrate Christmas in both worlds in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. There's plenty to see and do this holiday season in Orlando. I have been with my family and we all had a blast! From eating with the Grinch to all of the amazing holiday decorations, there is so much going on that it is sure to put you in the holiday spirit! Here are a few tips to make your experience even more enjoyable.f-26-15-13177225_NXwYtaDq_DSC00482_-_CopyWhen it comes to parade-watching, a little pre-planning never hurts. First things first. The performance times will vary depending on when Universal Studios Florida closes for the day, so make sure to check for the time and exact route in the park's daily times guide.  We always seek a spot along the parade route about 30 minutes before it starts. My favorite place to watch from is the area right in front of the Macy’s building or the Revenge of the Mummy ride. Here, you will get to observe a special moment when Santa helps light the large Christmas tree with some special helpers. If you are interested in meeting The Grinch, you will find him lurking inside Seuss Landing at the All the Books You Can Read store. Hours vary but exact times can be found in the daily times guide for Universal’s Islands of Adventure. If meeting the green man himself is a high priority, I would head to this location first! Also, while you are scheduling time in your day for this experience, don't forget to add some wiggle room beyond waiting in line. A visit with the Grinch is extremely interactive, highly unpredictable and incredibly hilarious. As an extra bonus, don't forget to introduce yourself to the Whos you may encounter while out and about in Seuss Landing during Grinchmas. They love to spread their unique holiday cheer.f-26-14-13177225_yO73UT3j_Facebook_Cover_Collage_4The best thing I can recommend is The Grinch & Friends Character Breakfast at Universal's Islands of Adventure. Breakfast entrée options include a green eggs and ham platter. It was the funniest thing we have ever encountered. The Grinch is present and goes around to every table causing havoc as he always does. He took my plate and tossed it in the trash! He then sat down in my seat and started eating my son’s food, all along yelling at us to get out! The Whos are there singing and are happy as ever which, of course, the Grinch can’t stand!f-26-19-13177225_NWPlaM6y_DSC00278_1One last tip, if you want to step up your Macy's Holiday Parade experience, you can sign up on a first come first served basis to be a balloon handler. As your travel planner I will make sure you know where to sign up. Keep in mind, the number of spots allocated to be a part of this holiday fun vary from day to day. Please don't bank on adding this experience to your day, but instead think of it as a nice bonus if the occasion should arise. I have more great tips on Universal Orlando during the holidays that I would love to share with you.
