A Refreshing Treat at Disneyland!

Sarah McClure10.30.18f-26-13-12401262_gZ1PCXvd_Mint_JulepThe Mint Julep at Disneyland. Have you heard of it? I have, and it’s been on my Disney bucket list for some time. However, every time I have passed the Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square, there has been a long line and I have passed it up.f-26-14-12401229_alY6E8jH_Mint_Julep_Bar_SignI am sure you have seen the lines as well. On a hot day, they can stretch the length of the New Orleans train station! So, what is all the hype, you ask.The Mint Julep Bar is known for just 2 things: the Mint Julep and the Mickey shaped beignets. This makes for the perfect snack combination!A beignet is a French pastry that is like a combination of a scone and a donut. The fried dough is covered in powered-sugar and served warm. You can purchase beignets at other locations in the Disneyland Resort, like Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express in Downtown Disney or Café Orleans in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square. Yet, the beignets at the Mint Julep Bar are Mickey-shaped and this makes them takes 100 times better!f-26-15-12401229_GnKD41TP_Mickey_Shaped_BeignetChoose between a 3-pack or a 6-pack, but be warned, this is a hearty snack and make affect the outcome of your next ride attraction… if you catch my drift! My husband and I have found that a 3-pack is more than enough to share.f-26-19-12401229_gA0PbW5Q_Mint_Julep_Bar_MenuThe Mint Julep is described as “a refreshing mint drink with a hint of lime flavor”. Served in a 16-ounce clear cup with ice, a sprig of mint and a slice of lemon, this drink is very refreshing! There is even an exquisite Victorian bench perched nearby for you to sit and enjoy your special treat!f-26-20-12401229_5DBY7CBX_New_Orleans_Square_Bench  I am not one to enjoy sweet drinks (I don’t drink soda and very rarely drink juice), yet I found myself truly delighting in the Mint Julep. It was not too sweet and not too sour. I did not have that “cotton mouth” feeling with this drink. I am truly looking forward to my next visit to the Mint Julep Bar in Disneyland Park. Please contact me for assistance in planning your next vacation.
