A Resort Day at Coronado Springs

12 January | Lisa Perna

Why take a Resort day when vacationing in Disney World?  It’s always a good idea to take a break from the parks.  Everyone needs time to relax, unwind, and nap in the gentle breeze.

Many of the Resorts have uniquely themed pools that reflect its personality. Coronado Springs is a beautiful resort with a Mayan theme. The pool has an amazing Mayan pyramid that reaches 50 feet high. Attached to the Lost City of Cibola pool is a water slide with twists and turns.

Hungry? Thirsty? Siestas Cantinas is a pool side bar with yummy food and signature drinks. We found a quiet shady spot away from the pool. It was refreshing to sit back and close my eyes while enjoying the warm air.  Our lunch choices were Fish Tacos and BLT Chicken Wrap.

Once you've played by the pool or taken a nap outside, it's time to explore the resort! Your first stop is the children's play area near the pool. Here they have a climbing spot, ping pong tables and a arcade area. As you stroll along the resort, you'll find several walking areas with fresh flowers. You can also find a jogging trail that takes you around the 22-acre Lago Dorado!

Heading back to the main lobby you will find shopping, lounge areas, a café, and a few other restaurants. The shopping area has everything you may need or have forgotten to pack. They have snacks, beverages, and treats. If you need personal items, you can find first aid kit items, baby supplies, and toothbrushes. Of course, you will find plenty of shirts, mickey ears, luxury purses, bubble wands and anything else Disney related.  Make sure to stop at this store before checking out for a few must have souvenirs!
