Adults Only Walt Disney World Trip
By: Stephanie Peavy7.17.18Have you been thinking about taking an adults only Disney trip? Well, I am here to tell you, do it! If you have kids like me, there might be a certain amount of guilt for leaving them at home. The best advice I can give you is to take time for yourself, and lose the guilt. My husband and I had not been on a vacation alone in almost 20 years, so this was a much needed getaway for us.The biggest thing about an adult’s only trip is the overall freedom you have. I purchased the quick service dining plan so we would not be tied down by times and it was a great decision. We ate at places we have never tried before and were pleasantly surprised. Some of the restaurants we went to included Blaze Pizza in Disney Springs, Earl of Sandwich also in Disney Springs, La Cantina de San Angel in Epcot (where we ate delicious nachos and cooled off with a Mango Margarita), and Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie also in Epcot in the France pavilion where we had the best bread and chocolate mousse I have ever eaten. Last, but not least, we ate at Sleepy Hollow and enjoyed the hand dipped corndogs and waffles & chicken. It was great to try all the new places that our children would not have chosen if they had been there.Next, we thoroughly enjoyed riding the slower paced rides. We weren’t spending time waiting on roller coasters that we did not necessarily like but were doing it for the kids. We enjoyed the “oldies but goodies” like It’s a Small World, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean. I felt very relaxed the entire visit since we were not on a timer to get from place to place. The last new thing that the hubby and I did was resort hop. There were a couple of hotels that I was not familiar with and always wanted to visit. Let me say that the Beach Club resort is definitely on my bucket list. That resort is absolutely beautiful and I plan to stay there very soon. The Boardwalk also looked like a fun place to stay and you can’t get any easier access to Epcot than staying there. We also enjoyed going over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and watching some of the animals walk around. That hotel is also a must do for me in the near future.Overall, we had a wonderful time and I highly recommend going on an adults-only Disney trip. I thought that I would feel awkward by not having my children, but it was quite the opposite. There were plenty of other couples there without kids and they looked as happy as we did. That just goes to show that Disney is not just for kids, it’s for everyone.
