All About Group Cruising

Sari Palmeri3.5.19In May of 2016 my family cruise turned into a group cruise and I am so happy it did. I was out to dinner with friends and told them about the cruise I was taking. One immediately said we want to go and she was working on convincing the other. She then spoke to other friends and I spoke with other friends. Soon we had 8 rooms and we had a blast. We did some things together and other things were on our own and everyone knew it would be that way going into the vacation.Someone contacted me about a cruise and they told people and soon I was on my way to a second group cruise. I decided this was a great way to get away during our February break because the cruise was sailing from New Jersey and being that we live in New York, that meant no crazy priced airfare. I spoke with friends and the original people who contacted me spoke with friends and it became a group of 15 staterooms that sailed February 2018.I now have two group cruises set for February 2019. We had to break our group apart (which is so upsetting to everyone) because Royal Caribbean has their February cruise sailing on February 15^th and that is the day before our February break begins so the teachers can’t take that day off. The non-teachers are sailing on that cruise and the teachers are sailing on a Norwegian Cruise that sails on February 17^th for the week.One of the best parts about joining a group cruise is that you get an extra onboard credit just for being part of the group (dollar amount varies based on what the cruise line sets). You do not have to know others that are sailing in the group to be able to join. You can come along with just your stateroom or you can get others that you know to join you.Both of the February group cruises are sailing from either Cape Liberty, NJ or New York, NY in February 2019 on an 8-Night Bahamian Cruise and a 7-Night Bahamian Cruise, respectively.
