Animation Experience at Animal Kingdom

By: Leandra Hernandez, Vacation Experience Architect4.28.20On a recent family visit to Walt Disney World I took the opportunity to use one of my Fastpasses at Animal Kingdom and try my hand at animation! The new Animation Experience at Rafiki’s Planet Watch can turn even the least talented artist, such as myself, into an animator!f-26-15-13517424_h5Y9ZvdJ_20191228_115331The whole thing starts with a train ride to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, so you will want to make sure to plan ahead and set aside plenty of time. Disney recommends boarding the Wildlife Express Train 40 minutes prior to your experience start time. When you arrive, you want to make sure you have gone to the restroom, there are no breaks and the 25 minute class moves quickly!f-26-13-13517424_JbQ98HbB_20191228_115438A specific character is always featured for your class, and it changes regularly. I got You will be provided with everything you need, pencil, paper, clipboard, and a chair with a great view of your imaginer and a screen showing what they are doing. If you are lucky you may even get to meet a special guest, the animal you are drawing, in my case a video had to suffice. Hyenas are not the kind of animal they are going to bring in for a live encounter!f-26-14-13517424_bpwKJHt3_20191228_115351As you may have guessed, my class drew Ed from The Lion King, that goofy face was super fun to create! The Imagineer who led our class was lots of fun, and very encouraging, so no need to feel embarrassed. In. the end we all had created our own version of Ed, and I have to admit mine turned out better than I expected!Overall, this was a wonderful experience. My husband accompanied me, and while he is an accomplished artist, he enjoyed the class very much. We plan to try this again with another character. If you are really proud of your drawing there is a frame you can purchase and have the whole thing sent back to your resort just like you can with any other item you buy! Try out The Animation Experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on your next vacation and maybe you will be inspired like we were!Contact me by email leandra@wishesfamilytravel.com or phone (270)860-4444 or visit my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/leandrahernandezwft to learn more. #wishesfamilytravel #leandrahernandez #trainedtraveledtrusted #travelplanner
