Becoming an Agent with Wishes Family Travel

These are just some of the qualities that are necessary to become a concierge agent with Wishes Family Travel.Wishes Family Travel is a home-based agency that opened in 2006 and employs agents across the United States. We also have a storefront in Gaffney, South Carolina that opened last year to better serve our customers.I love to travel and I am a lover of all things Disney. I enjoyed my first visit to Walt Disney World shortly after the Magic Kingdom opened in 1971. That was then followed with a visit during my honeymoon. Since my oldest daughter was six years old (around 1995) we have traveled to Disney most years at least once. My daughters are now 29 and 24 and still love to visit Disney every year!I have always loved helping friends and family with travel plans as well as spending hours making my own family’s travel plans. I often said I would love to be a travel agent. Over the past year I would occasionally see Wishes Family Travel posts pop up in my Facebook newsfeed and always thought how wonderful it would be to work with them. In December of 2017 (just before we left for a Disney Christmas vacation) I took the plunge and sent my application. While I was at Disney I received my first call and subsequently signed my contract with Wishes a couple of weeks later.The training with Wishes Family Travel is quite extensive. I also work full time at another job so I have spent many hours on weekends and after work completing training. It was fun training though because I enjoy the subject so much. I felt so accomplished upon completing the College of Disney Knowledge and promptly printed and proudly posted my certificate on the refrigerator! I later received a very nice frameable art print from Disney recognizing my completion.I was fortunate (and so excited) to complete my first client booking a few weeks after completing my initial Wishes training. It’s exciting each time I hear from someone wanting a vacation quote.I have also completed training with Universal Orlando and I try to complete some form of training as much as possible each week.Wishes Family Travel concierge agents are Trained, Traveled, Trusted. We are required to continuously be involved in training opportunities and to support each other as a team. Even though our agents are scattered across the country, I can always find agents available to help with questions or to cheer me on and support my business.  We are a family of like-minded professionals and our goal is to make vacation wishes come true. We work very hard to make sure clients have the best vacation that meets all their individual needs.I am also fortunate to be close enough to work at our Gaffney storefront once a month and to have a very supportive agency owner. I look forward to continuing my training and to continue meeting new clients. My hope is that I will eventually be able to make Wishes Family Travel my full-time job since I enjoy it so much.Wishes Family Travel is recruiting.
