Breakfast at Cape May Cafe

In all of the times I have visited Walt Disney World, I have somehow missed out on breakfast at Cape May. That was remedied on my trip last June. I have done many character meals, dare I say almost all of them, and Cape May really blew me away! It is located at the Beach Club Resort, which is absolutely fabulous also. It is a deluxe resort located right outside of Epcot. The second I walked through the doors, I knew I chosen a great place.
On my trip last month, I brought my husband, 14 year old daughter, and her best friend. Now, if you know anything about teenagers, the are hard to please. However, Cape May scored with everyone. When we returned home, my daughter said it was her favorite place we ate this trip. One point for mom!!
I want to start off with the ambiance. The resort itself smells so good. It feels tropical and the colors are so vibrant and happy. We made reservations several months prior, so we only waited about five minutes to be seated. As soon as we sat down, our server arrived. She explained that the characters that would be stopping by and talked about a few exceptional items that were available on the all-you-care-to-eat buffet. So far, we were off to a great start.
Let me just say, the food was fabulous! They, of course, had the traditional Mickey waffles, but they also had so much more to choose from. The french toast was delicious as well as the hand carved ham. My teens loved the chocolate chip pancakes and the abundance of pasteries. We definitely had our daily allottment of sugar (or more like our weekly allottment). The food was all hot and fresh with tons of options for any eater.
The character interaction was wonderful as well. We met Donald, Daisy, Minnie, Goofy, and Tigger was available on your way out of the restaurant. We did not feel rushed when the characters came by; they posed and let me take as many pictures as I wanted. I missed Minnie when she came by, so our server got her to come back over. I did not want to miss out on my Minnie Mouse picture. She was so cute in her beachwear. The little boy at the table next to us was turning one and he loves Donald Duck. So, Donald pulled up a chair next to him and his birthday cake and joined in with the family singing Happy Birthday. The little boy hugged and kissed him when it was over. It was the cutest thing! I have not seen a better character meet anywhere so far.
From the food and characters to the fabulous Beach Club Resort, you will not be disappointed eating at Cape May. It is now on my family's list to go back on each trip. We left happy and full! It was then an easy five minute walk over to Epcot to begin our day. I think kids and adults will all enjoy this experience. I was pleasantly surprised, but thrilled to find another fabulous place to eat at Disney. I love trying new things with each visit and even better when I get to share my experience with my clients.
