Breakfast with my best friends at 'Ohana

Breakfast is my favorite meal. Stitch is my favorite Disney character. So, it should come as no surprise that my favorite character meal at Walt Disney World Resort is none other than ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

At ‘Ohana, you’ll find Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo & Stitch. This is currently the only character meal where these pals visit with guests, greeting them for autographs and photos as well as leading them in a fun parade around the restaurant’s perimeter.

My family and I try to work this character meal into our plans with each visit. Advance reservations are highly recommended, however, I have been able to snag these last minute. (You’ll just want to be flexible for last minute reservations.)

When you arrive for breakfast at ‘Ohana, your family receives a lei greeting and an opportunity to have your photo taken. During our last trip, my husband and father-in-law stepped out of the restaurant early and by chance had a photo taken with Pluto. It was a fun surprise for them both!

If your table isn’t yet ready, you can wait outside the restaurant and enjoy overlooking the resort’s lobby. The hostess will call your family’s name, and will lead you to your table.

One draw of ‘Ohana breakfast for me, aside from the yummy food and my favorite characters, is that it is served family style. This means rather than having to make trips to the buffet to pick up more Mickey waffles for my children, I can relax knowing that the food comes to me! And the waffles – they are pretty much endless!! At ‘Ohana, you’ll also find them stamped with Stitch’s face, too! Along with waffles, breakfast includes scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, sausages, ham topped with pineapple, fresh fruits, and breads. There is something for everyone.

If you’ve never experienced ‘Ohana, you’re in for a treat when it comes to the food, but even more so with beverage. ‘Ohana serves POG, which is a blend made up of pineapple, orange, and guava juices. My oldest son LOVES this, so much so, that I found the recipe online to make it at home!

While you’re enjoying your meal, Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch make their way to your table. Just as with other character meet and greets, you’ll want to have your autograph book and pen ready for this meeting.

Would your family like to include this experience in your vacation plans? I’d love to help you with this and other aspects of your trip! Please reach out via email or by phone at 828.289.7658. For more tips and information related to travel, be sure to visit me on Facebook and Instagram!
