Character Meet and Greets on the Disney Fantasy

Susie SwansonSeptember 15, 2016imageA family dream came true this past April 2nd.  My little family got on board the Disney Fantasy for a week of fun at sea. My family consists of my husband, Steve, our son, Benny (9), and our two daughters Luci (7) and Maggie J (4). When we boarded the ship we had no idea we were in for the very BEST vacation of our lives!  Everything about the cruise was amazing and Disney sure does NOT take any shortcuts when it comes to customer service. However, the experience that I want to focus on are the character meet and greets.First, there were so many offerings for every meet and greet - there was no chance that your kids would not be able to see each and every one of the characters that they wanted to meet. Appearances are always posted on your paper navigator and also on the Disney Navigator app.Second, if you get to a meet and greet about 15 minutes before the character is supposed to be there the line will be minimal. (Maybe 5-8 kids). Another reason that meet and greets are amazing on the ship is because you are not waiting outside in the heat with the sun beating on you. You are in air conditioning on a beautiful ship, so grab a drink and head to the meet and greets!imageThe third thing that I thought was so amazing was the amount of time that each character spent with the kids. It was NOT rushed at all, every character played their role beautifully. Chip and Dale acted mischievous as they normally do and Cinderella was spot on in her princess role. The princesses all got down on the same level as my little Maggie and talked to her and asked her questions.  They all did the same thing - they greeted each child, continued with a hug if the child wanted and then got down and spoke to them for a bit. Once their “experience” was complete they always did a professional photo for both you and the photographers. Look at the photos below of my daughter meeting Belle. If you want amazing character experiences I recommend a Disney Cruise.  These characters made my kids feel very special and provided all of us with a little Disney Magic! If you would like more information regarding one of these amazing cruises please contact me susies@wishesfamilytravel.com or 248-798-5117.  Check out my FaceBook page by clicking HERE
