Chef Mickey’s Breakfast

One of my favorite table service dining locations at Walt Disney World is Chef Mickey’s, located in Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This is a family favorite of ours, and a must-do every time we travel to Walt Disney World. I was a little nervous to return in a post-COVID situation, as I was not sure what to expect. The amazing character interactions at this restaurant are what makes it amazing, and my husband and I love to indulge in the all you care to enjoy buffet. At this time, character interaction is limited, and the meal is served family style.
I am so happy to share that not only was Chef Mickey’s great, it exceeded my expectations and was even better than it was before COVID! While the characters do not come directly to your table, they do stop by, stand behind the table for photos, and do a TON of dancing! We actually got to see each character at least 3 times, and they interact so heavily with the guests even from a distance. It was such an amazing experience and actually brought a small tear to my eye to see my 2 year old son so happy to see his beloved Mickey and friends.
The food also completely exceeded my expectations, and it was incredible! We were served a celebration pancake, pastries, a skillet of bacon, eggs, and waffles, banana French toast, fruit and more! The celebration pancake may be my favorite pancake I have ever had. It was shaped like Mickey, filled with edible glitter, and topped with whipped cream! We also loved our Mickey waffles, and the donut hole pastries! My son ate more at this meal than he did at any other meal of our trip, and there truly is an option for every member of the family here. We received our food so quickly, and I much preferred it to a buffet! I was so nervous about this dining experience and almost canceled my reservation - and I am glad I didn’t! I will continue to return each trip, and in the meantime, I will be day dreaming about that pancake!
