Discovery Point

Anna Trosper1.17.19When I was a kid growing up in Southern California I fell in love with the ocean and all of its sea life. If I could go back and do things over again I would have pursued a career in Marine Biology. I have followed my love of the ocean and have become a master scuba diver. Discovery Point did not disappoint this ocean enthusiast. What an amazing place to be able to get up close and personal with dolphins, belugas and sea lions. I could have spent all day here.f-26-15-12410527_i59KJCht_The_reef_2Discovery Point is to the left of the entrance to Sea World. I was amazed you did not have to have a ticket to enter. Now, if you want to do an encounter with the dolphins, belugas or sea lions you have to have a reservation to swim with them for a fee. This visit we strolled around and took it all in. Next visit I want to have an experience with the belugas. At Discovery Point in Sea World Antonio there is an underwater viewing area to observe the dolphins and get eye to eye. I could have stayed there for hours. The dolphins come up to the window and play with you, I had so much fun. Trainers can be found in the viewing area from time to time and are available to talk and answer questions. Find out how Sea World cares and takes care of them. Most of the animals are from rescues or have been born at Sea World.f-26-14-12410527_GKYrbVWd_The_reef_1Also, in Discovery Point is Explorer’s Reef. The first thing you see when you walk in is a breathtaking cylindrical salt water aquarium; it must be close to 10,000 gallons. Inside you will see more than 300 different species of fish, invertebrates, amphibians, and let us not forget, five different species of sharks. I was taken aback by how well this was all put together and by all the different sea life that was there to see. Sea horses, clownfish, sharks and all kinds of fish that hang out among the coral reefs. There were even dart frogs!f-26-19-12410527_Or2XpKqY_Discoy_Point_3All of this and it’s all free! Yes, you must pay for parking but just to walk into Discovery Point and see all this does not cost a dime. Now we came all this way and not going to Sea World wasn’t an option. But the time we spent in Discovery Point was amazing so make sure to take time out of your trip to Sea World San Antonio and visit Discovery Point even if you’re not doing one of the paid interactions.I would love to talk with you more about this great vacation option.
