Disney at Home

Does anyone have a space in their home that’s Disney themed? Whether it be a full room, nook or a creative area, it’s always fun to add a touch of Disney magic to your personal space. During the trying and sometimes stressful time that’s been 2020 and with so much travel that’s been limited, my family decided we needed some special touches added to our finished basement that will make us smile each time we are down there.

First, our maps! We have both world and United States maps that are frames and have the ability to add push pins. Our family loves to travel! Whether it be a Disney destination, cruise or other kind of trip, our maps are a simple way to mark where we have been. With Disney resorts in several areas of the country, those would have multiple pins if we could! Orlando, Anaheim, Vero Beach, Florida, Ko’Olina, Hawaii, and Hilton Head, South Carolina are well loved destinations. In addition, we have some bucket list places we hope to visit (this includes the 4 corners of the United States and Iceland). I think we have a pretty impressive tally so far of places traveled.

Second, the ears. Who else has a fun collection of Mickey ears that they don’t know what to do with? Turn them into wall art. We have some odd corners and thin walls due to built-in’s. They have turned into the perfect place to display our ears. Some shiny nails and a ruler and there you go, simple DIY art.

Lastly, the showpiece of the basement. Our Epcot wall! This was a labor of love and involved a lot of ¼’ painters tape (like 2+ rolls worth!), some basic geometry knowledge and a lot of measuring and leveling. And a whole lot of patience. A few days later and voila, Spaceship Earth has found a place in my home.

I’d love to help you plan some fun memories in any of these destinations! I can be reached at Leslie@wishesfamilytravel.com
