Disney’s Four Parks: Do They all Work for Your Family?
Kelly Rodriguez5.21.19Disney has four parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. How do you decide which are best for your family? Personally, I think you can find things to enjoy and do in every Disney park, but here are some highlights about each to help you decide for yourself.Magic Kingdom is the main park with lots of rides for all ages, even babies and toddlers. There are also many princess and character meet and greets. You can fall in love with classic Disney attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Dumbo, Mad Tea Party, Peter Pans Flight or It’s a Small World. How about riding your favorite roller coasters over and over? Choose from Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain or Space Mountain. Want to meet some Disney Princesses? You can meet Ariel, Rapunzel, Tiana, Cinderella, Elena, and Belle. Watch for other characters to pop up around the parks too, like Jasmine and Aladdin, Merida, Fairy God Mother, Cinderella’s step sisters, and Peter Pan. You could easily spend two days in the Magic Kingdom, there is so much to do.Epcot has a lot to do for younger children, too. If you have girls, there are several princess meet and greets unique to Epcot. You can only meet Anna and Elsa here! Epcot also has princesses in the different countries in World Showcase. Jasmin is in Morocco, Belle is in France; you’ll find Alice and Mary Poppins in the United Kingdom, Snow White in Germany, and Mulan in China. You can also meet Joy and Sadness from the movie Inside Out, BayMax from Big Hero 6, and for a limited time, Ralph and Venelope from Ralph Breaks the Internet. Epcot also has some amazing rides for little ones. They have Frozen Ever After in Norway and The Seas with Nemo and Friends in The Seas pavilion. Another amazing attraction to delight the younger crowd is Turtle talk with Crush. It’s an interactive show sure to entertain everyone! If your child is at least 40 inches tall, Test Track is a very fun option; you get to design your own car and then test it out. Soarin’ is another thrilling ride where you fly over different countries of the world. Epcot also has several seasonal activities. In the spring is the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, fall offers the Epcot International Food & Wine festival and during Christmas, each country in World Showcase highlights their holiday traditions.Hollywood Studios has Toy Story Land that just opened in 2018. Hollywood Studios also holds stage shows including Disney Junior-Live on Stage, Journey of the Little Mermaid and Frozen Sing-Along. These shows are filled with your favorite Disney characters. For older kids, there is Tower of Terror and Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster. In late fall of 2019 Star Wars Galaxy Edge will be opening.Animal Kingdom offers the Kilimanjaro Safaris ride where you can see a variety of animals in their natural setting. A newer edition to Animal Kingdom is Pandora: World of Avatar with two new out of this world attractions. Flight of Passage offers thrills for those 40 inches and taller, or for those that are not, Na’vi River Journey offers a peaceful boat ride. Looking for more thrills, then try Expedition Everest. You can also meet unique characters in Animal Kingdom like Pocahontas, Dug and Russel from the movie Up, and Tarzan. At Adventurers Outpost you can meet Mickey and Minnie dressed in their safari attire. Each Disney park presents their own night time experience. The Magic Kingdom presents Happily Ever After fireworks show. It includes a projection display on Cinderella’s Castle of Disney movies synced with music and fireworks. It’s an absolute must see! Hollywood Studios entertains guests with Fantasmic! This show features Mickey as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice and includes amazing pyrotechnics and water projections. Rivers of Light is Animal Kingdom’s new nighttime display. It combines nature and folklore set to music and special effects. Epcot boasts IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth on the lagoon in World Showcase. This tells the birth and history of the Earth using fireworks and flames! But hurry! This show is only set to run through summer 2019 and then will be replaced with another spectacular offering.
