Disney's Hoop De Do Review Dinner Show
The Hoopla over Hoop-Dee-Doo
By Penny SheltonHidden back in Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground in a barn they call the Pioneer Hall is the Walt Disney World Resort’s longest running dinner show, The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. This is a must-do for any Disney experience. The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is a 90-minute family-friendly saloon show. Performers sing and dance, deliver comedy skits and interact with the audience for a rootin’ tootin’ good time! It is somewhat corny, but that is what makes this Disney experience so much fun.But wait! There is more! The dinner is actually incorporated as part of the show. Dinner is served family-style, so when you arrive at your table there will be loaves of cornbread waiting for you. This has to be my favorite part of the meal - this cornbread is fabulous! Once the performance is under way, the servers wearing red checkered shirts will begin bringing out buckets of fried chicken that is tender and juicy along with succulent barbecue smoked pork ribs. To accompany this duo you will get a large bowlful of creamy mashed potatoes, delectable cowboy beans, savory vegetables and a crisp salad. The food is really good, and it’s all you can eat, so enjoy! However don’t eat so much that you don’t save room for a huge helping of Strawberry Shortcake. The only way I can describe it is happiness! There are three shows performed nightly at 4, 6:15 and 8:30. Guests can select from three different seating options: floor, side balcony or back balcony. Prices vary upon seating area. You will want to arrive at Pioneer Hall 40 minutes early to get checked in and get your photos taken. Getting to pioneer hall is easy, but can take a while if you are not staying in the campground. You can take any of the internal buses from any of the parks to Settlement Depot of Disney’sFort Wilderness Campground. Or, you can take a boat from the Magic Kingdom, Contemporary Resort or the Wilderness Lodge to the campground boat dock. The dock is just steps from Pioneer Hall. I personally love taking the boat. It’s a very scenic and relaxing ride and a great start to a fun evening. This show is always a must-do for my family when we visit Disney World. We always know that we will have a hootin’ hollerin’ rowdy good time.
