Disney’s PhotoPass: Is it worth it?

I have a lot of clients who ask me if I feel that Walt Disney World’s PhotoPass service is worth purchasing. My answer every time is a resounding yes! It is even more beneficial since Covid. The pandemic has affected so many things, and Disney is no different. One thing that changed is taking pictures in the parks.
First, let me explain what PhotoPass is exactly. There are photographers located in all 4 Disney parks. There are also strategically placed cameras on some of the most popular rides ready to capture that action shot. You can have access to possibly hundreds of photos when you purchase PhotoPass. Included in your purchase is the ability to download every picture taken of you and your family/friends throughout your visit. They will show up on your My Disney Experience app and you then save them to your device to have forever.
Pre-Covid, the Disney photographers would gladly take pictures using your camera. That is no longer an option, so there is always someone left out of the memories. For only $169 (price subject to change), that is one less worry you have. Everyone will be included in all the photographs. There is also an added bonus of Magic Shots. That perk is my absolute favorite for kids as well as adults. From rainbows to characters, you never know what special extra will show up in your photos. On my last visit, my friends and I made it our mission to get as many Magic Shots as possible. I think I ended up with around 25 total. The photographers have different options, so always ask to make sure you are getting the most out of your purchase. In addition to the pictures, you also get live videos from select attractions that include some of your favorite characters.
I have been to Walt Disney World more times than I can count, and I get the PhotoPass every time. I am also pleasantly surprised at the different shots I get. The PhotoPass is a premium service at a reasonable price and will definitely enhance your vacation.
