Earth IS awesome!

Have you ever sat and thought about the beauty of nature? Our planet is a pretty amazing place. Some of the most breathtaking scenery exists all around us. Hear me out on this! Imagine a hot Florida day enjoying Epcot, humid but oh-so-fun. After exploring the Seas with Nemo or traveling into Orbit on Mission: Space, when you want a little break, there is a hidden gem that is often overlooked that will give you some blissful air conditioning, time to sit, along with a pretty cool film that will leave you itching for some future travel!

In the Land Pavilion (where Soarin’ is located), as you enter, there is a doorway on the right which shows the film Awesome Planet. I highly recommend checking it out next time you’re there. The film plays on a loop, again every few minutes. The seating is angled so all the seats are great. The screen is slightly curved and gigantic so all images appear even more lifelike.

The film is a short overview of planet Earth, lasting about ten minutes. The scenery throughout is unbelievable, Disney really knows how to pick the best of the best as far as beautiful still and video images! Whether you want to see forests, desert, or glaciers, every biome will be covered! You will learn about different ecosystems, environmental factors, as well as conservation.

The main point of the film is, in fact, conservation as a reminder to care for our planet to keep her beautiful for future generations. While sobering to think of the damages caused by humankind, the film is a great teaching moment as well.
