Fan Friday: Character Autographs
Getting those Character AutographsOctober 2, 2015By Sarah McClureFor the young and young at heart, the anticipation of meeting a favorite character on their Disney vacation can make them simply giddy! Yes, Disney vacations are about family time, rides, great food and shows, but we all have our hopes set on meeting a special character and getting their autograph.Characters appear throughout the Disney parks and ships, at certain restaurants and locations that can be found in your Times Guide or Personal Navigator. Other times, characters appear randomly. Here are some important tips to remember about meeting characters and getting autographs:** Many characters have gloves, so bring thicker pens that are easy to grab.** Let your child take the lead with the character. It is best not to force an interaction or a perfect photo. Candid shots can make for the best keepsakes!** Create a more meaningful experience by talking with the character about their life, friends or something they know. For example, Belle knows about books, so your child can chat with her about their favorite book. You can be a little silly and ask Flynn Rider what he has in his “purse”!** Disney Visa Card holders can take advantage of an exclusive character meet in Epoct.** Make reservations at a Character Meal! This is your chance to meet several characters at one sitting and have great interaction time. Often times the characters will make their way to your table a couple of times during your meal. ** Characters will sign almost anything, so long as it is not being worn.** Important to know about the dance parties, if the characters are dancing, they will not sign autographs.Going beyond the typical Disney Autograph book, here are some unique items to have signed:Plain hatPhoto matteCinch sackPillow caseDisney Jr. Encyclopedia of CharactersBackpackChristmas ornamentT-shirt (not being worn)Phone caseStuffed AnimalCanvas ShoeMost characters are able to sign for you. However, just like some characters don’t talk with their voice, some characters simply cannot sign autographs. In these cases, you are welcome to take a photo and some will have a stamp for your book or a signature card to take with you.
