Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Missy Ryan3.24.20I have been a stay at home Mom for almost 15 years now. Shortly after my fifth child was born I decided to start working from home and stumbled upon, you got it, Wishes Family Travel. Working from home gave me the opportunity to be with my children and still bring in an income. The days are not as easy as most would assume. Balancing work, children, and then adding a sixth child … you can say my plate is full and then some. No complaints, as I would not want it any other way, but there are days I need to regroup. This past Fall I actually took two trips without my children. One is typical as I usually do an agency meeting and the other was at Disneyland with two of my very good friends, who also work for Wishes. These trips both proved to me that I needed these moments, these experiences, and this fun.Our agency meeting was slightly different compared to the past. One being we were on a Disney Cruise sailing on the Disney Dream!! The other was that we had a very loose itinerary.I have been on a Disney Cruise before with my family. It had to have been my favorite family vacation ever. I wish I could take a picture of how my heart felt because if I could it would encourage and entice so many other families to just take the trip!During my family cruise I really learned more than I ever have than just training and reading about what Disney Cruise Line had to offer. It was wonderful to see, hear, touch and feel all of these experiences. I love that I now have that to share with my clients. This past trip, I was not with my family so I knew it would be entirely different. At first I was very apprehensive about sailing without them. I was battling with a lot of emotion going on a Disney Cruise without them. After the first few hours I have to admit, those feelings went out the window. I was so eager to explore the adult side of a Disney Cruise. To immerse myself in all the experiences and activities I did not have the opportunity to do as a “Mom.” I was excited and eager to do as much in that short week as possible. For those that think there are limited activities, areas and experiences for adults on a Disney Cruise, I can assure you that you will want to book a place holder and return for an adult only trip faster than you can say Disney Cruises rock! Some examples of the amazing areas I was able to experience were:The pool areas - Quiet Cove offers seating, a bar, hot tub and coffee shop that you can order specialty coffee and snacks for an added charge.Satellite Falls is located close to Quiet Cove with a wading pool and several lounge chairs overlooking the sea, which is perfect for R&R.Private adults only side at Castaway Cay – There’s no kids allowed on this side of Disney’s private island. It’s quiet with just enough stretch of beach to enjoy the beautiful sun and sand that the Bahamas has to offer.Day time is a great time for relaxing to prepare you for the night life. There are a few locations that are just about perfect for every mood. The Pink Champagne Bar. Guess what, it really is all pink!! A great place to relax with a cocktail in a serene atmosphere.Evolution, which is a fun and exciting adult area to gather and participate in so many activities. Family Feud, Karaoke, Dancing and my favorite of all time, Silent DJ Dance Party. Guests are invited to wear head sets and have 3 stations they can tune in to. No one hears the music but yourself. There is dancing, singing and laughing, while music is not heard by anyone but those who have headsets on. It is one of those experiences that you never thought you would love and wish you could host your own.District Lounge - this area starts off as a relaxing spot to enjoy a glass of wine, beer, or favorite drink. Then as the night goes on the dance floors are full and the DJ is filling the air with song after song after song.Skyline Lounge - A bar you can truly unwind in. The cool thing about this bar is that you order your drinks from an iPad. When you click on the drink it not only tells you what type of drink that it is but also what city it comes from and details about that city.Palo, which is adult dining. I do not have enough room to gush about this adult only dining. The food, the appetizers, the buffet, the flat bread pizza, the dessert spread, oh the choices are endless. Nothing disappoints. Hands down a fabulous experience to be had.If you ever have the opportunity to cruise with your significant other, friends or family members, do not count Disney Cruise Line out. It is an experience that I will forever cherish and so grateful that I was able to experience.Girls just wanna have fun, and when they do they are better women to their children, their husbands, and friends. If you are interested in booking a trip, contact me via Facebook or at missyr@wishesfamilytravel.com
