This attraction is a 3D movie and multimedia show hosted by Flik and Hopper from the Disney-Pixar film A Bug’s Life. The cast also includes cute insects like spiders, termites, beetles, weevils and butterflies.f-26-15-13572356_HKFfC9X9_Its_tough_to_be_bug_1During the show, you'll get to experience life as an honorary bug by facing everything from the flying quills of a tarantula to defense spray from soldier termites but be make sure to watch out for the stink bug!! The show also features the audio-animatronic character, Hopper. He sets out to teach the audience a lesson in the struggles that bugs have being small in a world full of humans. During his rant, a can of bug spray sprays the audience and the lights turn off. Guests feel poking sensations from the back of the seats to simulate the movement of all the bugs. Black widow spiders then descend from the ceiling. A hero chameleon scares off Hopper and the show wraps up with a cute musical number. Just before guests stand to leave, an effect simulates the feeling of movement under foot which is meant to be bugs leaving the theater!f-26-20-13572356_WhsHGCLg_its_tough_to_be_a_bug_2This is such a fun show but be aware going in that it is shown in 3D and has moments of darkness and loud noises. The show can be incredibly scary and upsetting for small kids. I would recommend talking about this as a family prior to going into the theater and reassure the little ones that its all pretend and just part of the show. If your child needs to leave the show a cast member will help you to exit with them. The duration of the movie is approximately 8 minutes. The best part is you get to pick up a pair of 3D “Bug” glasses to wear! These are provided at the theater entrance and are recycled and cleaned after each use. The theater has wooden bench seats with no padding. Guests do not have to transfer from wheelchairs or ECVs to experience this attraction, but to feel the full effects of the show its recommended to transfer if you are able. This is also a great show to watch if you need a break from the sun or rain! This show does offer FastPass+ reservations but using one is often a waste!f-26-19-13572356_97vCvUn6_flikMake sure to take your time walking down the path winding around the Tree of Life. How many different animal carvings do you see? There are tons! Great photo opportunities too so make sure you have your camera out! This is one of our family’s favorites! Make sure to add it to your next visit to Animal Kingdom! You won’t be sorry! If you have any questions or would like help booking your next vacation please contact me at 601 832-1561 or Erin@wishesfamilytravel.com.
