Kona Cafe Breakfast

Lee Grace Gunter1.8.18f-26-14-12666321_EkxjxJbd_KonaSignKona Café is a restaurant located at Walt Disney World’s Polynesian Village Resort. Kona Café is located on the second floor of the lobby and is an open-air restaurant. While dining you can enjoy the ambience of the Great Ceremonial House from above. The décor inside the restaurant is bright and colorful. The menu remains in line with the Polynesian theme of the resort and the menu adds some island flair to many classics and features many island staples. Kona Café is often overlooked for the more popular ‘Ohana which is right next door.f-26-19-12666321_DfSTZT4A_TongaToastThere are tons of options available for breakfast such as traditional French toast and Macadamia Nut Pancakes. One of the most popular items on the breakfast menu at Kona Café is Tonga Toast. Many guests rave about Tonga Toast. Tonga Toast is banana stuffed sourdough bread that is egg battered and deep friend. It is then dusted in a large amount of cinnamon sugar. It’s served with a strawberry compote to drizzle on top.In addition to the Tonga Toast I also enjoyed The Loco Moco. The Loco Moco is a tower of white rice under a grilled hamburger patty topped with chorizo gravy, two eggs any style and tomato salsa. This dish was flavorful and even a little spicy. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this.f-26-15-12666321_bfu690IF_LocoMocoIf you are looking for something refreshing other than orange juice then I recommend Liliko’ juice, which is a mixture of orange, passion and guava juices. If you are a coffee drinker, then try the Hawaiian French Press Coffee.Overall, I really enjoyed Kona Café. Breakfast is one of my favorite meals and I will be back to try more breakfast items. The portions are healthy and the ingredients fresh. If you are on the dining plan it is 1 table credit; if you are paying out of pocket then the breakfast entrees ranged from $12 to $16. Even if you are not staying at The Polynesian Village Resort, I recommend making your way over for at least one meal.If you would like more information, please contact me Lee@wishesfamilytravel.com or 215-668-2445.  Check out my Facebook page by clicking HERE.
