Liberty Tree Tavern
Lisa Perna5.5.20Liberty Tree Tavern is one of my favorite restaurants in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Located in Liberty Square, this restaurant has historical theming. Once you step inside, you are greeted by the host who is dressed in colonial clothing. Next, you check in and find a seat in the waiting area. When your table is ready your host or hostess will call your last name and the place you are from. It was so cool to hear the host say, “announcing the Perna family from Oklahoma!” There are six rooms in Liberty Tree Tavern where you can dine, and each is designed to represent a Colonial American hero. Betsy Ross, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Paul Revere, Thomas Jefferson, and John Paul Jones all have rooms dedicated to them. The menu has many delicious choices to choose from. You will not leave here hungry. In fact, you may want to consider sharing the massive portions of food. For lunch you can either order from the all-you-care-to-eat “bill-of-fare” or order an individual entrée. For dinner however, individual entrees are not offered, and you can only eat from the “bill-of-fare.” This offers salad, turkey, pot roast, oven-roasted pork, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, herb stuffing, and house-made macaroni and cheese, and Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake for dessert. When I recently visited, I ordered “Our Tavern Keeper’s Favorite” which has pot roast, mashed potatoes, and seasonal vegetables. I choose The Pilgrim's Feast which has carved turkey breast with mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, herb stuffing, and gravy. For dessert we enjoyed the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake. This consists of Vanilla Toffee Cake with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. It’s a rich, delicious combination that you have to try!Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant. This restaurant had incredible historical details and decorations. As you dine on your meal you feel like you are in another time period. All of the food is fresh and well made. This restaurant will be a top choice for a family that wants to sit down and take their time enjoying a full-scale meal. If you are Gluten Free this restaurant has many options that don’t include gluten. It’s as simple as not ordering the rolls or the stuffing. If you are in the parks during Thanksgiving or Christmas, you will enjoy the benefits of a holiday meal without the cooking. I will be back to eat at Liberty Tree Tavern with or without a holiday. This review is based on a recent trip to Liberty Tree Tavern. While dining at this restaurant, I did not receive any discounts. This is my unbiased opinion. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at lperna@wishesfamilytravel.com Follow me on Facebook and Instagram!
