Review: All Star Movies Resort

For our latest trip to Walt Disney World, my husband and I decided to check out the All-Star Movies Resort. We personally had not been since the resort was renovated in 2019 and wanted to experience it firsthand.

The first thing you will notice when you arrive is the amazing theming that begins at Cinema Hall. This is where you check-in, catch transportation, go shopping, hang at the arcade, and also enjoy some food! Speaking of food, the World Premiere Food Court is one of my favorites. Featuring lots of favorites for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, there are also some delicious cupcakes and adult milkshakes for dessert. Be sure to take advantage of Mobile Ordering. No need to wait around when you can order from your room and then head straight to the pick-up window.

Once outside of Cinema Hall you can head straight to the main pool, The Fantasia Pool. From here you will begin to notice the movies that All-Star Movies Resort has pulled its inspiration from - Fantasia (preferred location), Toy Story (preferred location), 101 Dalmations (preferred location), The Mighty Ducks, and Herbie the Love Bug. Now, they do offer a quiet pool called the Duck Pond Pool. Just be aware that like other value resorts, there are no water slides. Which could also be a determining factor for families but didn’t bother my husband and I.

We stayed in a preferred room, which was located in the 101 Dalmations building. This was an easy walk to and from Cinema Hall. Rooms here feature two queen beds, one of which folds up into the wall leaving a table. This was a perfect spot for coffee in the morning before hitting the parks. We also really appreciated the dressing area with large counter space so that two people can easily get ready. But I cannot forget about the bed! Talk about comfortable! It made for a perfect spot to collapse after a long day of walking.

One of the biggest questions that I get is about transportation here at the All-Star Resorts, which can be a determining factor in which Disney resort you stay at. We did share buses with the other two All-Star Resorts (Music and Sports) but felt that we had a pleasant experience during our stay.

Overall, we had a great experience there. Theming-wise this is one of my favorite resorts. It is a great option for families thanks to the theming but can also be a great choice for an adults-only trip. We had wonderful service from the moment of check-in to our bus ride back to MCO and look forward to our next stay.
