Rose & Crown Dining Room at Walt Disney World

By: Anna TrosperDecember 21, 2017Are you or your family the type that like to indulge in delicious and diverse foods while on vacation? Then you will be right at home in Walt Disney World thanks to the hundreds of dining locations scattered throughout the four theme parks, two water parks, Disney Springs, and over two dozen Disney Resorts. With so many places to enjoy a wonderful meal deciding where to eat is one of the hardest parts of planning a Disney vacation. Disney’s theme park, Epcot, makes that decision even harder! Future World in the front of Epcot is home to some wonderful dining locations but World Showcase in the rear half of the park is where most guests head to when looking for a unique and savory meal. World Showcase is home to eleven different pavilions where each celebrates a country from around the world. Each of these pavilions is home to at least one quick service and one full-service dining location. That’s a lot of choices!AT - CRown_pubOne of our family’s favorite locations in World Showcase is the United Kingdom Pavilion which is also home to a wonderful full-service restaurant, The Rose & Crown Dining Room. Many guests love to enjoy The Rose & Crown Dining Room because it offers an authentic taste of the UK. Combined with the atmosphere and beautiful views it is like you are in the United Kingdom. There are several reasons why we love to enjoy a meal at the Rose & Crown Dining Room. One is the atmosphere. The Rose & Crown Dining Room has the perfect combination of a lively but homey ambience. In the front portion of the restaurant is The Rose & Crown Pub which is frequently full of guests looking to enjoy a pint at the bar. There is always someone playing the piano and entertaining the crowd keeping the surroundings light and engaging. The dining rooms are filled with wonderful details that make guests feel as though they are tucked away in a quiet pub somewhere in the UK.Another reason we love the Rose & Crown Dining room are the friendly servers. They truly bring the restaurant to life. Each server is originally from the United Kingdom and they are always welcoming to guests who are looking to enjoy a taste of their native cuisine. The servers are bubbly and upbeat and can offer suggestions and tips on what to order from the menu. They can even explain some of the harder to understand sides dishes!AT-blog_photoAppetizers! Need I say more? No meal in Walt Disney World is complete without enjoying an appetizer and the Rose & Crown Dining Room is no exception. You can choose from refreshing and comforting options that will take you right to the UK. Popular appetizers include the Coronation Salad, Scotch Egg, Crock of Potato Leek Soup, United Kingdom Cheese Platter, and House-Made English Pastry. Again, the servers can help you with your selection. I love the potato leek soup! The entrée options are perfect and they will not disappoint. Guests can choose from Fish and Chips, Bangers and Mash, Grilled New York Strip Steak, Pan-Roasted Scottish Salmon, Chicken Masala Curry, Shepard’s Pie, and Corn Beef and Cabbage. My hubby gets the Fish and Chips; they are unbelievable. You have to try them!No meal on vacation is complete without dessert and you are sure to love each option offered at the Rose & Crown Dining Room. They have Sticky Toffee Pudding which is served with vanilla custard and butter-rum sauce. There is an English Trifle which features strawberries, vanilla custard, graham crackers, and whipped cream. Also notable is the Banoffee Tart which comes with banana, Jameson Irish Whiskey, caramel, sweet cream, and chocolate. Lemons Scones and Warm Fruit Crumble round out the menu. Good luck picking just one!AT - beerSince the Rose & Crown Dining Room is attached to the Rose & Crown Pub, it is no surprise that you can also partake in some delicious libations. You can order up standard cocktails, wine, and pints as well as unique offerings that can’t be found elsewhere. The restaurant serves up pub blends which combine two types of beer to make one delicious beverage. Popular options are the Golden Imperial Pint which combines Harp and Bass Ale, the Bumblebee Imperial Pin which combines Boddingtons and Guinness, and the Black Velvet Imperial Pint which combines cider and Guinness. We always get the Golden Imperial Pint. My husband is a bit more adventurous than me and has tried them all!If you are looking for a fun place to eat and to try something different, this just might be the place for you.
