Safety First!

2020 has certainly been a memorable year, filled with much uncertainly and change to everyday life. Many aspects in our lives have been altered, from routine activities to less common acts. Traveling is also very different nowadays, there’s no doubt about it. Airlines, resorts, and theme parks are all doing their best to make visiting their facilities as safe and pleasant as can be.

I recently spent a long weekend at Universal Orlando Resort and observed first-hand the safety protocols the resort has put into place. One thing that sticks out as far as their streamlined handling is temperature checks. It seems everyone takes our temperature now, from medical appointments to sports events to strangers at various locales. Universal is no different though they came up with a great way to monitor daily temperature checks, in my opinion.

During my recent trips, I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel, which offers a water taxi or walking path to the theme parks and CityWalk. When exiting the hotel to the taxis/walking path, there is a security guard at the door who quickly scans your forehead for temperature and then gives you a colored bracelet. You know the ones, plasticky-paper with the ends that stick together. Each day, the color of the bracelet changes. During my stay, I had orange, green and pink bracelets. It’s an easy way to all employees to be able to tell that each guest has already been screened.

The process is very quick, quite simple, and gives a sense of relief that they are taking safety protocols so seriously. The ability to go on a vacation, with these changes, was a definite positive to me for a sense of normalcy in my life.  I would love to help you plan a trip to Universal Orlando or any other destination!
