Scuba Diving At Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort – Jamaica
By: Anna TrosperAugust 1, 2017There is no “perfect” vacation. Maybe your airline lost your luggage, or your taxi was thirty minutes late, or your kid contracted the stomach flu the day before you had to leave. In my case, however, I had a, to put it lightly, sub-par experience scuba diving at Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort. To put everything into perspective, my husband and I are certified, very experienced divers. We were thrilled to discover that diving expeditions were included in the resort package, and fully intended on taking advantage of that fact. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly dissipated once I actually boarded the diving boat.
The diving wasn’t entirely terrible. Our master diver was incredibly knowledgeable and very competent with his craft. If you do not want to pack your gear they have everything you will need and it is all included in your vacation. We also had the opportunity to purchase a $25 lifetime membership to their dive club! Normally, resort guests have to reserve a spot on the following day’s dive. With the membership, however, you’re automatically guaranteed a spot on each dive for any of your stays at a Sandals Resort. Not too shabby for $25! Will be trying it out on our next trip to Sandals Regency La Toc in Saint Lucia next December. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend booking a trip to Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort solely for the diving. Take advantage of their cuisine, their beach, their wonderful customer service- just don’t expect to have a wonderful diving experience. If you would like more information on booking a vacation at this Sandals resort or one their 15 lovely resorts please contact me.
