Shrink Down to Toy Size

Tiffany Morse1.22.19

This past week my children(Abigail-12, and Daniel-8)  and I were shrunk down to toy size as we entered Toy Story Land.  We walked into Andy’s Backyard and were greeted with army men and cast members playing with hula hoops.  There was a line of people waiting to meet Buzz Lightyear.  It was magical and wonderful.

Originally, we were going to rope drop Slinky Dog Dash, but then walked over to Toy Story Mania when we saw the short lines. Usually the lines are very long. The lines were not long and the wait time posted was ten minutes.  We parked our stroller and went to get into line.  The lines have been re-done and expanded.  They are still decorated as all kind of toys.  Lincoln Logs, board games, and barrels of monkeys.  There are also some nice additional surprises in the line that I won’t spoil for you.

The ride is still as much fun as always.  We all had a great time and worked hard to improve our scores in this arcade style attraction.

Next we exited the attraction and were wowed by the table made from dominoes which my son loved and had to try out.  Then we went  over and across to Slinky Dog Dash.  The line was long and the posted wait time was sixty minutes.  We got in line on the bridge and started to wait.  The line is decorated with Slink Dog and related toys.  The actual line took forty minutes and then my kids were on the ride and I was watching.  My kids loved it and said that it was much like the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.  They loved it and would have ridden it again if they could have.

After Slinky Dog it was lunchtime so we headed over to Woody’s Lunchbox to try that.  This is a quick service restaurant . We got into line and were given a menu to look at while we waited.  The line was long and hot.  There is very little shade in this section of the park.  The kids looked for a table, but really couldn’t find one.  I waited in line.

Abigail and I ordered the adult monte Cristo sandwich without the raspberry jam so that took an extra twenty minutes, but the sandwiches were good and they came with potato barrels for $12.99 each.   As I pulled the menu up, this choice was not on the menu so it may have been taken off.  My son ordered a child’s turkey sandwich which came with potato barrels, an orange, and a child’s drink for $6.79.  Abigail and I got sodas separately at $3.29 each.  The food was great.  Daniel surprisingly didn’t love his sandwich, but did love all of the potato barrels.  Again, there was not a lot of shade.

After lunch we took a bathroom break and rewetted our cooling towels.  We went over near the Alien Swirling Saucers, which we did have a Fastpass for.  Our Fastpasses were not for another twenty minutes so we watched the ride for awhile.  It was very entertaining.  Finally it was time for our Fastpasses, so we walked up to the Fastpass Line and boarded our saucer 10 minutes later.

The ride itself seated all three of us comfortably in one saucer.  The ride starts and the saucer spins in a circle and flips you back and forth like a dinosaur whipping it’s tail from side to side.  It is on a track the they play fun music the entire ride.  The ride was fairly short, but a lot of fun.  We all voted that we would ride it again and again.  We all loved Toy Story Land and can’t wait to go back. If you are planning a trip, I am here and would love to help you build your next trip. I look forward to hearing from you at :Tiffm@wishesfamilytravel.com, 678-770-4144, or https://www.facebook.com/tmorse.wft/
