Sometimes Paper is Better

By: Susie SwansonMay 5, 2016In this fast paced world everyone is all about cell phones, electronic devices, laptops and iPods. This next sentence may make some people scream. Sometimes I am old fashioned and I like PAPER!imageMy family took a trip to Disney in November 2014. I decided to make an “old fashioned” binder for our trip. I wanted to have paper copies of the park maps, our daily schedule, fast passes, dining reservations and guide maps. I also printed menus of the restaurants that we were eating at so that I could scope out what our options were prior to arrival (that was very helpful especially since we were traveling with three little ones).imageAs an agent, I am aware that you can get this information online and most of it from My Disney Experience, but sometimes I just want it on PAPER in front of me. Yes, I did print everything out and put each paper in a page protector, and YES I did carry this cute little binder with me to every park!imageI also had each of my kids fill out a one-page journal entry for every day that we were at Disney. The journal asked the kids questions like the weather, what park we went to, their favorite activities, and also a place for a drawing. I get it, this is the age of being paperless, but sometimes I think that having paper is better, in this instance when traveling to Disney I like an “old fashioned” binder to help me keep track of everything.imageNow I have this beautiful binder of everything that we did on our family vacation along with the kids journal entries as a keepsake forever! Now, almost a year after our trip my kids love to look at the binder and the maps that I saved and their journal entries and remember what we did on our trip.
