Step Back in Time at Carthay Circle

Rebecca JonesFebruary 9, 2016Walking into the Carthay Circle, near the entrance to Disney’s California Adventure, you know immediately you’ve stepped into a place of class and elegance. The muted colors and chandeliers, along with the black-and-white photos of long-ago stars, take you back in time to the 1920s, when Walt Disney first came to southern California.
I ordered the Autumn Salad, and while it was very delicious, I didn’t feel there was anything spectacular about it. I definitely enjoyed the other options that the entire table shared much more than my selection. When it came time to pay the bill, our waitress was unable to split the bill among the five paying people, and instead, we had to figure it all out and tell her how much to put on each person’s card. That was very inconvenient, and unfortunately, ended our evening on a negative note.f-26-13-8959666_ac20qLAj_Carthay_autumn_saladOverall, the décor and the food at Carthay Circle make it a must-do-once on my list, but I doubt I’ll return again. The food was very pricey for what we received, and the high-class atmosphere, while not completely ruling out children, made me feel that I wouldn’t want to interrupt other diners with small kids. It’s a wonderful location for families with older children, and for adults traveling together.Contact Rebecca Jones, Senior Supervisory Agent, with any questions about your Disneyland vacation, at Rebecca@wishesfamilytravel.com, or (325) 733-8399.
