The Grand Californian Resort and Spa - A Disneyland Resort

Juli RussFebruary 2, 2016The minute I stepped out of my car I knew I was going to love the Grand Californian with its magnificent stone and woodwork giving you the feeling of being in the California wilderness.  After passing through beautiful stained glass doors, I was amazed by the spectacular lobby.  Although the lobby is large and open, it felt warm and cozy with its inviting sitting areas, and cozy, expansive fireplace.  Throughout the day you will hear lovely music being played at the piano and stories being told by the fireplace.  At night children come down for story time in their pajamas.Walking through the lobby to the pool you will find a shop filled with souvenirs as well as any necessities you may have forgotten.  The Redwood Pool features a slide wrapped around a giant tree and is attached to the quieter Fountain Pool.  The children will enjoy their own Mickey shaped pool.  For an additional fee there are cabanas with lounge chairs, a love seat, tv, a mini fridge with six bottles of complimentary water, a complimentary fruit platter, towel service and a cabana server.
The Grand Californian features the Mandera Spa, which offers a variety of luxurious spa treatments.  While the adults are enjoying the spa the children can check in to Pinocchio’s Workshop for crafts, games, movies and meeting new friends.  The entire family will want to dine in The Grand Californian’s restaurants.  Napa Rose is the upscale restaurant which has a California themed menu and wine selection.  Storyteller’s Café is a more casual buffet-a la carte restaurant and offers a breakfast with Chip n Dale and some of their pals. The location of the Grand Californian is unbeatable, there is an entrance to California Adventure right at the resort.  Downtown Disney, with its shopping, restaurants, and Monorail stop is also right outside the doors.  It was nice to hop on the Monorail and ride right into Tomorrowland in the Disneyland Park.  Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier are also a short walk from the Grand Californian and makes pool hopping or dining at the other resorts easy to do.I would love to tell you more about the Grand Californian Resort and Spa and help you plan a magical Disneyland vacation.  Contact me, julir@wishesfamilytravel.com for more information and follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest for fun Disney facts and information.
