The Importance of Having a TA
Sarah McClureFebruary 18, 2016As you begin to plan your vacation for the upcoming year, it is easy and convenient to hop on the Internet to check out options and pricing. I am sure the website you visit will make it very easy to complete your reservation with a little button that says, “BOOK NOW!” Please do not click that button!Needless to say, I encourage travelers to research their favorite vacation spot. It is important to fully understand all the different options and pricing structures. However, as a trained, traveled and trusted concierge agent with Wishes Family Travel, I know how important it is to have a travel agent working for you.I have been doing my job as a Disney and Universal Specialist for years and I take pride in the fact that I know my products very well. My news feeds are filled with the most up-to-date information on special offers, changes and the latest happenings. I have first-hand experience with many cruise ships, resorts and hotels and can offer you insider knowledge on your destination. As your travel agent, it is my job to help you plan every aspect of your vacation package. Of course, we begin the process by finding the right dates, hotel and tickets, or the perfect ship, sailing dates and stateroom. Then we look at additional items like dining plans at the theme parks, shore excursions during a cruise and vacation insurance. Then the fun begins with all the tips and tricks I will share with you! We will plan your FastPasses and set up dining reservations. I will even get you all the information that you need for extra magical experiences like Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, adult only dining experiences and historical facts on your cruise ports. I spend time getting to know your family and will offer recommendations, along with a personalized itinerary. My goal is to help you feel comfortable and confident when you walk into a park or onboard a ship. How can you save money by using a travel agent? Since I am so connected to my travel suppliers, when a promotion is released I can immediately verify that your package falls within the terms and conditions and then work my magic to get you the savings. It makes my heart happy when I can send an email to a client that begins with, “Magical Savings Inside!”Finally, after months and weeks of planning, it’s time for your magical vacation to begin! I will send you well wishes on your travel day and check in with you while you are away. But what happens if something happens? Not necessarily that a ride breaks down or the lines are longer than anticipated or it rains every day of your trip. As much as I would love to be able to throw some pixie dust your way and fix those types of problems, these situations are out of my realm of travel expertise.I am referring to a problem with your flights or your hotel accommodations, big problems, unforeseen problems that take time away from your family to resolve. I am your safety net!Consider the *T* family who missed their flight connection to Orlando due to technical issues with the airplane. This meant they would be stuck in Denver overnight, missing their first night’s reservation at their resort. This also meant they would miss their first day in Magic Kingdom. While waiting in a two-hour line at the airport gate to resolve her flight arrangements, Mrs. T called me and I was able to work some magic on their vacation. The family was not charged for their missed night at the resort and we were able to bump the entire package by a day, even saving FastPass selections. Yes, this took some time and effort, but the *T* family could rest easier know their vacation would remain in tact.Another example is the *S* family who were traveling with Grandma over the holidays and requested connecting rooms. Despite making a request, upon arrival the family found out that their rooms were not even in the same building! This was very worrisome and frustrating for the family, so Mrs. S gave me a call. While the family continued on with their vacation plans and had a terrific lunch at TRex Café in Disney Springs, I was able to work on their behalf to get the family’s rooms together.I would never want my clients to spend their vacation time standing at a desk trying to resolve an unforseen problem when they could be making memories with their loved ones. Not only do I take pride in my role as your travel professional, but there is great pleasure in knowing I help families all over the country create magical moments they will remember forever. Please contact me today to make your Disney or Universal travel reservations and take advantage of my complimentary planning services. sarahmc@wishesfamilytravel.com
