Located just 6 miles, or about 15 minutes, from the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, Knott’s Berry Farm dates to the 1920’s when the Knott family sold berries, boysenberries to be specific. A restaurant, shops, a few small attractions and a Ghost Town were added to the property in the 1940’s. The first admission price was only a quarter in 1968. The property grew over the next several decades and was eventually purchased by Cedar Fair in the 1990’s. Knott’s Berry Farm has since been recognized as the “10th Most Visited Theme Park in North America”.If you are looking for a great day to spend with your younger children, Knott’s Berry Farm is the place! Camp Snoopy is six acres of fun with Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang. It is best visited in the morning or later afternoon. Midday will see longer lines. Your family can experience shows, 12 rides and character meet and greets. Linus may even share his beloved blanket with you!
If you are looking for day filled with fantastic thrills, Knott’s Berry Farm is the place! With 13 thrill rides, all offering FastLane access, you are sure to scream and spin and zoom until your heart is content.Montezooma’s Revenge will hurtle you through a 7-story loop forward and then again backwards at 55 miles per hour!Hang, face first, 150 feet above the ground in California’s steepest dive coaster, HangTime!
La Revolucion definitely ensures you won’t know up from down and left from right with swings reaching 120 degrees 64 feet in the air and turning 9 times per minute!Go from 0 – 82 miles per hour in just 2.3 seconds on Xcelerartor the Ride!The best way to experience all of these thrills and more is to pre purchase FastLane access. Once you arrive in the park, you will be given a wristband that allows you to bypass the standby lines at a majority of attractions throughout the park.There are several shows performed a few times each day. The Native American Dancer is not to be missed for the beautiful costuming and original presentation of a culture.Arrive to the Wild West Stunt Show about 30 minutes early for seats inside the covered wagons at the back of the theater. Otherwise, you may be left with seats in the blazing sun, or in the “Splash Zone”.Utilizing the Knott’s Berry Farm app will help to maximize your time in the parks. Do not end your day without trying the iconic boysenberry soft serve ice cream!Knott’s Berry Farm offers several seasonal events throughout the year. The Boysenberry Festival is held during the spring and Ghost Town Alive! Celebrates the historical elements of Calico during the summer months. Knott’s Scary Farm is a separated ticketed event held in the evening hours during the Halloween season. This event is rated PG-13. The holiday festivities include Knott’s Merry Farm with regular park admission.The bottom line is that, while Knott’s Berry Farm is not a 16-hour day like other local theme parks, it is a day filled with fun, adventure and a great time with family and friends.
