Topolino's Terrace

17 November | Kenni Rich

Topolino's Terrace is the new character dining experience at Walt Disney World. Located within Disney's Riviera Resort, this highly sought after restaurant quickly became a favorite of mine and my family's.

During breakfast, you will join Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, and Donald Duck as they make their grand entrance one by one to their own themed song and dance. Inspired by French cuisine, the food at Topolino’s is delicious. Unlike many character dining experiences where food is buffet style, at Topolino’s each person receives their own plated meal.

Food

You will start off your breakfast with an assortment of pastries. I felt the variety was perfect! We enjoyed chocolate chip muffins, croissants, and apple turnovers. Also included was jam, chocolate hazelnut spread, and honey butter. I will be honest, I was slightly worried about the unique breakfast offerings as my Mouseketeers can be picky eaters. I can confidently say that they both loved their meals and are eagerly waiting to return.  I highly recommend the popular Sour Cream Waffles, Mickey Waffle Dippers, and the Wood-fired Butchers Steak. Without a doubt, this was the best meal I have ever had!

Ambiance

Disney’s Riviera Resort is inspired after the European Riviera. As soon as we stepped into the lobby, the fusion of European elegance and Disney pixie dust was evident. This theming is carried throughout the resort and up into Topolino’s Terrace. The restaurant setting is airy and warm. Situated on the top of the resort, you will enjoy sweeping views of Walt Disney World property. The restaurant itself is large and open, it features a variety of tables and booths. The large space gives the characters plenty of room to interact with guests and take pictures. Personally, I felt this was the best setup for character dining. Did you know topolino is a baby mouse in Italian? Fitting for a character breakfast!

Characters

Let’s talk about the stars of the restaurant, the characters! Each character is announced individually to their own song. Like Prince Charming Regal Carousel, they make their way around the room interacting with guests and taking pictures. I felt they gave each table ample interaction time. After the introductions is when the fun happens! The music starts and the characters dance around the restaurant. Have your cameras ready as the “dance party” is short and sweet.

With the delicious food, great character interactions, and beautiful atmosphere I can see why this dining experience is popular. It is perfect for those with children or without. Overall, if you are wanting to experience a more relaxed character dining this is for you!
