Traveling with a Large Family

Several families that have more than two children shy away from visiting the happiest place on earth because they fear it may turn out to be the unhappiest place on earth.Being a Mom of five, I can relate to these thoughts and agree that they are valid fears. The key is to plan and prepare. As of today I have traveled to Disney quite a number of times with four of my five children. My youngest will turn one soon and we are hoping to prepare and plan and make another wish come true.As you prepare to plan I find small tips to be my biggest saviors.

  • Travel back packs for the plane or car ride. It is amazing how busy your little one can be with a new coloring book and a few new fun things to write with. The dollar store has a great selection!
  • Fill individual sandwich bags for each child per day. Add a box juice, crackers, fruit snacks etc. Have these prepared and made before your trip (yes, I did this and yes, it was great).
  • Gallon size Ziploc bags. Pack each outfit for each day in a bag. If you have a girl, do not forget the bow! These were helpful because my children all grabbed a bag each day and got dressed. Younger ones needed help but outfits were planned and ready for Mom! This also makes packing so much easier and allows for more space!
  • Print and take your itinerary. This will organize your day. Go with the flow but at least map out what direction your flow is going.
  • Did you know you can pre-order a case of water and have it shipped to your resort prior to your trip? How convenient is that?

Keep plans simple and enjoy the ride!!2014-12-09 22.47.41
