Universal CityWalk Dining

In December 2020, I went on an adults-only trip with my husband for his 30th birthday. It was our first time ever staying on Universal Orlando property! One of the best things about Universal is the CityWalk area. CityWalk is what I would consider to be the main section of the Universal Orlando Resort, and it is an area full of restaurants, shopping, and more that connects to the entrances of the parks. Although I have been to the Universal parks several times, I had never experienced CityWalk to the fullest until this trip. My husband and I love to eat, especially on vacation - who doesn’t?! We were so impressed by the dining options offered on CityWalk.

During our trip, we had reservations booked at 2 restaurants: Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and Toothsome Chocolate Emporium. We loved the atmosphere at Margaritaville - beachy, breezy, and we enjoyed eating outdoors on the covered patio. They had the BEST onion rings with a special sauce, and we both loved our seafood mac and cheese dinner. Toothsome Chocolate Emporium was also such a cool experience. It looks like a chocolate factory both inside and out! We had loaded nachos, a giant Caesar salad, and a cheesy flatbread pizza. The food was great, but the best part of this experience is the milkshake - which is Toothsome’s claim to fame! We had the confetti milkshake for my husband’s birthday. It was creamy, sweet, and picture perfect!  There are several other sit-down restaurants that we look forward to trying next time, such as NBC Sports Grill and Brew, and the Cowfish.

In addition to sit-down dining, CityWalk also offers quick bite locations, as well as places for specialty snacks! One of the days of our trip, we were able to enjoy Panda Express for a quick lunch in between park hopping. We also indulged in Voodoo donuts! Voodoo Donuts are homemade specialty donuts, and they are amazing! We had the M&M Donut, Oreo, Capitan Crunch, and Fruit Loops! My favorite thing about the experience at Voodoo donuts is that we were able to order them on the Universal Parks app, pick them up, and take them back to our room.

We experienced only a small portion of what CityWalk has to offer for dining- there are so many options that will fit every member of the family, and every type of taste bud! We can’t wait to try new places when we return to Universal Orlando.
