Wave-alicious

By: Sari Palmeri7.19.18Disney’s Contemporary Resort is my family’s “home away from home”. It was always my first choice from childhood through adulthood. We would eat at Chef Mickey and the Contempo Café on each trip. These restaurants, along with the location to Magic Kingdom, were always perks for this resort. For young children (or picky adults) the Contemporary restaurants boast predominantly American menus. I always walked by The Wave restaurant and had never eaten there; I’m not even sure why.My friend and I were at our annual agency meeting in October 2017 and decided to try The Wave for dinner. WOW, I am so happy that we did! Since we had the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan an appetizer, an entrée and a dessert were included for 1 dining credit (table service for the Disney Plus Dining Plan).f-26-15-11838976_hVGtuMmU_Crab_Cakes_with_e-mailWords cannot describe how amazing everything was! We asked our waiter for his opinion when we were torn between 2 items and we went with his suggestions. For my appetizer I had the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, for my entrée I had the Grilled Beef Tenderloin ad for my dessert I had the Chocolate Flight. My friend also had the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes for her appetizer, but she had the Cioppino as her entrée and the Seasonal Flight for her dessert. The crab cakes were amazing and the beef tenderloin was so tender and delicious. I consider myself a choco-holic and the chocolate flight was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal.f-26-14-11838976_FP8rSneR_Cioppino_with_e-mailThe atmosphere in the dining room at The Wave is great for families or an adult only meal. The adjacent Wave Lounge is open until 1 am so it’s an option for appetizers and drinks after a long day in the parks.f-26-13-11838976_ImTnYQDb_Beef_Tenderloin_with_e-mailAnother bonus to this restaurant is that if you are at Magic Kingdom you can walk or take the monorail. It is easy to get to and definitely worth the quick trip. It’s either a 5-10 minute walk back to Magic Kingdom after you eat or you can take the monorail and see the other resorts and enjoy the views.I highly recommend this as a wonderful alternative for dinner that is just as convenient as eating at any of the restaurants inside Magic Kingdom. If you have any questions about this restaurant or any other restaurant at Walt Disney World I would be happy to answer your questions.
