What is the Best Bag for Disney World

Now that you know what to pack in your park bag, let's find the right bag for your trip.

I have tried so many different types of bags under the sun. Big backpacks, small crossbody, fanny pack you name it I have tried it. What bag was the best you ask? Glad you asked- it depends on what you want to bring in with you.

It is just you and a friend, a large family, have a small baby, or want to bring in water and snacks for the day? This all will determine the size of your bag.

Fanny Pack / Crossbody

I know that not everyone is a fan of wearing a backpack, but when it’s just me or a friend, it works great!

These are the things that were important to me:

  • It needed to fit my phone.

  • It needed to have multiple zippered areas to keep things organized. A small zippered pocket that fits ID/Credit cards/receipts/AP, etc. and then a bigger pocket I can fit my phone and small external charger in.

  • I wanted the straps and such to be cushioned, so it wouldn’t be uncomfortable to wear all day.

  • Most importantly, I wanted to be able to carry a water bottle.

What I want overall is a way to carry the necessities and a water bottle without having to use my hands and without having straps and bags and such touching the top half of my body and smothering me in the heat. I need a fanny pack or crossbody bag with lots of pockets. I hate the small ones with one zipper.

Backpack

When you need a little more room, a backpack just might be what you need. I try to stay as small as I can just so I am not carrying a lot of weight around all day. It may sound weird but, if I need to have a lot of stuff, I bring a stroller even if the kids I am with don't need it. Carrying a heavy bag all day can take some of the magic away. Also, there are lockers you can put a few things in like a change of clothes for kids or jackets and things for the evening.

Things to look for in a backpack

  • The right size for your needs

  • Water bottle holder

  • Padded straps

  • Lots of zippered pockets

  • Waterproof for rain (It's Florida…it rains)

  • Lightweight

  • Insulated, if needed, for food or drinks

So, do some research and find just what will fit your needs for your trip. The right bag will make life a lot more magical in the parks. Having what you need with you when you need it also makes life better. If you would like to talk about your next magical trip…or your first magical trip…I would be happy to help you.
