Wine Bar George - A Phenomenal Place to Dine

Wine has surged in popularity in recent years, which makes Wine Bar George the place to be in Disney Springs. I had lunch there recently with good friends, and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. The service, the location, the menu, the ambience – all were top-notch.

Upon entering Wine Bar George, you will see their large bar, with seating for at least 20 around its edges. You’ll also see a large portion of their over 130 wine choices, just waiting to be tasted. You can order from their extensive list by the bottle, by the glass, or even by the ounce if you just want a taste.

I chose a different drink – the Frozcato. It was a very warm day in Orlando, and this Moscato and Vodka cocktail mixed with frozen pineapple Dole Whip was just what I needed. It was delicious and refreshing, and my mouth is watering just thinking about it right now.

On the food menu, there are several small plates to choose from. Ranging from $8-$16, they include warm spiced olives, crispy mac n cheese bites, house-made meatballs, and grilled octopus salad. Wine Bar George also features an artisanal cheese board or a charcuterie board for around $25. My friends and I were all pretty hungry, so we went with the entrée options – chicken salad sandwich or a BLT-C, both with house made chips for around $13. As you can see, the food prices are not out of line with what you’d normally find in the entertainment district.

I had the chicken salad sandwich, which I really enjoyed. It was a bit creamier than I make mine, but that didn’t detract from it at all. I loved the grilled bread it was served on, with lettuce and tomato. The scene-stealer of the plate was the chips, though. I’m not sure what seasoning was on them, but they were amazing. In fact, I had to ask the waiter to take them away at the end so I would stop eating them!

Speaking of the waiter, he was phenomenal. I can’t remember the last time I felt so taken care of in a restaurant. He answered all our questions, made great suggestions, and was attentive in a non-pushy way. I was so impressed with him, and just hope that he is the standard that everyone at this location lives up to.

All in all, I can’t recommend Wine Bar George enough for lunch with your favorite adults. I can only imagine that children would be welcome, but the menu options and plethora of alcoholic options tend to indicate a more mature clientele. They do have a brunch on Saturday and Sunday, as well, that I hope to experience one day, and have heard the dinner menu is not as good as the lunch options.
