If you are looking for a napkin twirling good time, look no further than Chef Mickey’s located at Walt Disney World inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This character dining restaurant is as classic as it gets. It’s a great option for families, Disney enthusiasts and for those who are spending their day at Magic Kingdom its steps away from the park.
Atmosphere
Chef Mickey’s sits inside the main tower of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Disney’s iconic monorail whizzes by during your meal, which makes for a unique experience. While you are waiting for your table, make sure you have your smiles ready, you will have the option to have your picture take in front of a large Mickey inspired plate. When you make your way to your seats the dining room is filled with classic Disney colors of reds, yellow, blues and blacks. My son loved looking at the different versions of Mickey Mouse. Something to remember when dining at Chef Mickey’s: it can be loud. Throughout your meal the cherry song Celebrate with Mickey Mouse will play. At that moment fellow vacationers will start dancing and twirling their napkins.
Characters
The Fab Five take centerstage at this dining experience. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto take their time with each guest as they visit every table in the restaurant. This is a great option to grab an autograph or picture and you won’t have to stand in long lines. Did I mention that I love that they are dressed as chefs?
Food
I have a family of picky eaters, so when we visit Walt Disney World we take advantage and dine at buffets. Chef Mickey’s never falls short of options. Over the years, my family and I have made it a tradition to eat at Chef Mickey’s the morning of our first official day.
They have every breakfast item that you could imagine! You will find breakfast staples such as, bacon, eggs, potatoes and pancakes. If you prefer healthier options you can make your own fruit parfait. Pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, I could go on!
