54th Street Grill & Bar

Anna Trosper2/21/19On my last adventure to San Antonio, Texas, my husband and I went to Sea World. We stayed at a preferred Sea World hotel that had complementary transportation to and from the park. This worked out great for us because it was the middle of summer in Texas and the park got a little warm in the afternoon. We would head back to our hotel to cool off in the pool and one day we decided to find somewhere to eat before going back to the park for the rest of the day. The lady behind the hotel desk recommended 54th Street just down the road. So, we hopped in our car and off we went.f-26-15-12490288_RQFSHwJX_54th54th Street was very easy to find and was not far from our hotel. Although the place was busy, there was still plenty of parking. 54th Street is a very comfortable and relaxed restaurant with a retro feel. You are met at the door by a big wooden bear and the Blues Brothers. This is a precursor of what the rest of the decor is throughout the restaurant. They greeted us when we came in and we were seated right away. They have two bar areas and a family section. We opted for one of the bar areas where we could watch sports on the TV as we ate. There is so much to look at with all the décor they have on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. It does have a nostalgic quality about it and when you look up you see things like car parts, plane parts, and umbrellas. Everywhere you look there is something to see.f-26-13-12490288_csVAbBhr_54th_2The service was great! I am a hard person to please when it comes to service. Our waiter was on the ball and was very nice. He helped us pick what to eat and boy was I glad. His suggestions did not disappoint! My husband had the Havana Club sandwich and I had the Prime Rib French Dip. Wow! This was the best sandwich I have ever had! I can’t even begin to tell you how good it was. The seasoning they use on the prime rib while cooking mingled into the au jus and made it amazing. I highly recommend you try this if you ever go. We also had chips and salsa as we waited for our meal and that was delectable too.f-26-14-12490288_1oIupyP3_54th_3I highly suggest dining at 54th Street if you are ever in San Antonio, Texas.
