A Pirate's Adventure Review at Disney's Magic Kingdom
The Pirate Life for Me
By: Guest Blogger, Brenda MoguelOur family happily joined in the swashbuckling fun of A Pirate's Adventure ~ Treasures of the Seven Seas during our last visit to Disney’s Magic Kingdom. A Pirate's Adventure is an interactive scavenger hunt that takes you on missions throughout Adventureland to help Captain Jack Sparrow locate the Treasures of the Seven Seas.We started our adventure at the Crow’s Nest which is a small outpost building located near Pecos Bill restaurant. One person in your party needs to register their Magic Band at a touchscreen kiosk in order to begin and my 9 year old son jumped at the chance to be the leader of our merry band of pirates. The RFID chip in the Magic Band triggers the hidden clues and special effects at each stop of your mission. We completed our pirate raids by following the hidden clues and the treasure map we received. My son touched his Magic Band to the hidden clue at each stop along the way and then something magical happened. We loved the animatronics and special effects - from a cannon firing to treasure being revealed under a boat to talking skeletons.A Pirate's Adventure was a great way to spend our second afternoon at the Magic Kingdom. We were finished with our rides for the day and wanted to experience something new and fun. The best part was the fact that we could set our own pace since there was no time limit for the missions. Each mission takes approximately 15-20 minutes and can be completed between Fastpasses or dining reservations as we did. You can complete any or all of the five of the missions, but you get to join Captain Jack Sparrow’s crew if complete all five of the pirate raids. You can also stop in the middle of a mission if something else catches your eye and then start up again where you left off. This makes A Pirate'sAdventure great family fun for both those visiting the Magic Kingdom for the first time and veteran Disney families who want a new way to explore Adventureland.A Pirate's Adventure appeals to all ages and it was great to have the kids lead our adventure as they raced to the next stop to see what would happen. My daughter was in charge of reading the map since my son revealed the clues with his Magic Band. The whole family had fun trying figure out the clues and as a mom, I was happy to see them work together. We had a great time immersing ourselves in the pirate life for the afternoon.
