A Wishes Agent and a Disney Engagement!
By: Allison Flynn with Kayla JohnsonA Disney proposal wasn’t on Kayla Johnson’s mind when her family traveled to the Walt Disney World Resort for Thanksgiving in 2013. Because her family always travels together, it didn’t occur to her that something magical might be afoot.“We had a great two days at the parks,” Kayla said. “It was not really crowded and we just did our own thing.” Kayla’s mom, who was working in Orlando, met up with the family on Sunday, and Kayla’s fiancé, TJ, went back to the resort to change so the couple could match for their Christmas pictures."I planned a very large trip to Walt Disney World for Thanksgiving 2013 for my family - which turned out to be around 30 people. (I never thought anything special was going to happen because my family typically travels in large groups.)"While having funnel cake with her nephews at Magic Kingdom, Kayla got a call from her mom asking if she and the boys would meet the rest of the family back on Main Street to take a family picture. Her mother’s family took pictures first. Then, TJ’s mom asked if a photo with her, TJ and Kayla could be made. “She handed him the ring behind my back,” Kayla said. “And when she stepped out of the picture for me and TJ to take our photo, I didn’t feel him by my side any more. I turned around and saw him on one knee.”Kayla immediately jumped up and down as soon as TJ asked her “Will you marry me?”“I put my arms around his neck. I really never did answer, I just started jumping and hugging him. After about a minute of hugging, he asked if I wanted to see the ring - I had totally forgotten about it.”TJ had been planning the proposal since January, and went to great lengths to make the day one Kayla would remember. Being proposed to on Main Street with Cinderella Castle as the backdrop was magical, Kayla said. “Everyone stopped and was clapping for us. The photographers got every second of the proposal, and when we got back to the room that night we had a few surprises. It was wonderful.”[gallery ids="2379,2377,2378"]
