Adventure Disney - The Experiential Value
Unlocking the Secrets of the Luxury Experiential Value of an Adventure By Disney Vacation - Part 5Adventure By Disney - The Experiential Value Only Provided By DisneyBy Rebecca Jones Aug 2016When you think of Disney, a few things come to mind: impeccable service, unique experiences, and luxury pricing (read: expensive). With Adventures by Disney, you get all of those things in a first-class, one-of-a-kind family vacation.During a recent Central Europe Adventure by Disney (ABD) vacation, I was able to see all of these things in action. There is definitely a “Disney difference,” and I’d like to share with you some of the amazing events we were able to take part in, simply because we were on an Adventures by Disney trip. Each of these experiences is exclusive to Disney.Midway through our vacation, the Disney difference began to shine through on our day in Salzburg, Austria. We were given a guided tour of Hellbrunn Castle, with its playful water fountains.Hellbrunn is also the home of the glass pavilion featured prominently in the “16 going 17” scene from the movie, “The Sound of Music.” While it is on the grounds, it is never open to the public, for liability and security reasons. However, when you are with Adventures by Disney, your guide will not only open it for you, but you can go in and take photos of your family inside! Following this experience, you meet your tour guide for the afternoon, Baron Peter, who is a cousin to the Trapp family, and knew Maria and her family personally! He gives you a lot of insight into the actual family, behind the scenes information on the movie, and shows you the locations they filmed the movie at. This day was definitely a highlight of our vacation! The next day, we were treated to a private pretzel-making demonstration at a local bakery. We arrived after the bakery was done with their orders for the day, and we were treated to a very fun time of learning how to roll and twist our own authentic German pretzels. Then, we were able to take a tour of the bakery to see how they make all their delicious treats, while the Junior Adventurers decorate the pretzels with various toppings – salt, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc - before baking. After they are baked, we were given rather large bags that we could choose our own pretzels to take with us in. I think I ended up with 6-7 pretzels, and my bag wasn’t even full!In Vienna, we were treated to a private, after-hours tour of the Vienna Zoo by a zookeeper, and then treated to dinner in the Emperor’s Pavilion. This was a great change to ask any questions we had about the animals, the location, or just take photos without a lot of other people around! We were also given a private tour of the stables at the Spanish Riding School, home to the world-famous Lipizzaner stallions. There was no one else in the area, and we saw several people with inquiring looks on their faces as we went into the areas where no one else was allowed. We learned first-hand how they care for the horses, what goes into training them, and what it takes to be one of the riders. The horses were absolutely majestic, and it was such an honor to see them up close. These are just some of the exclusive experiences you get with an Adventures by Disney vacation. There are lots of little touches and surprises each day that make your Adventure vacation like no other!
