An Evening at Paddlefish Restaurant

Paddlefish is one of the premium restaurants in Disney Springs.

Located in the Landing area of Disney Springs, Paddlefish is aptly named as it is located on a reimagined and luxurious steamboat.  Offering rooftop water views and live entertainment Paddlefish takes seafood dining to the next level.  This is not to say that seafood is the only food on the menu; it isn’t.  Beef, pork, pasta, and vegetarian dishes are also featured at Paddlefish.

A popular restaurant, reservations are necessary, and you’ll be glad you chose it.  On the night we arrived, once we were seated the first thing we noticed was how lively the restaurant was.  Service was excellent with our waiter coming around with delicious pull apart rolls and butter and to take out drink menus.  While most of us had soft drinks or ice tea, I went for the Mayan Empress, a tasty blend of St Teresa Anejo rum, passion fruit, pineapple juice, and fresh lemon.  When our waiter James arrived with our beverages, he took extra time to make sure he answered our questions about the menu and what was included in our deluxe dining plan. We ordered our appetizers and decided to study the entrees a little more and have James take that order when he returned with the appetizers.

Appetizers were abundant and creative such as beef skewers, lobster corn dogs, charred octopus, fried green tomatoes, and shrimp cocktail among others.  We ordered the shrimp cocktail, the beef skewers, and the clam chowder.  The beef skewers were tasty with a hint of garlic and pickled onions on top.  The shrimp cocktail had six large shrimp and cocktail sauce that had a good balance of sweet and spicy.  The clam chowder as smooth and velvety with a nice amount of clams in it.  It was delicious.

Moving onto the entrees we chose from a menu that included such items as such as scallops, swordfish, pork osso bucco, shrimp pasta and salmon, just to name a few. Our entrées were a whole Maine lobster, king crab legs, a filet mignonm, and fried shrimp. The crab legs were succulent and accompanied by corn on the cob and new potatoes.  The filet was cooked to the order of medium rare and was smooth and deliciously seasoned with mashed potatoes and asparagus and a side of bearnaise sauce.  The fried shrimp was crispy and not greasy served with skin on fresh cut fries.  The whole lobster was mine.  James brought it and set it in front of me and waited.  I looked at the beautiful whole lobster and wondered how I would get it apart.  Then James asked me if I would like him to shell the lobster for me.  It took him 30 seconds to remove the meat.  I was impressed!  My lobster was sweet and cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the corn on the cob and new potatoes.

We had plenty to eat so we did not order sides but there are many including crispy brussels sprouts, edamame bacon smoked succotash, blistered green beans, and macaroni and cheese just to name a few.  You can even add to your entrée a lobster tail, or side portions of king crab, snow crab or shrimp.

After dinner we enjoyed the live entertainment and leisurely walked through Disney Springs stopping in stores along the way.  Paddlefish is a great meal to have if you are visiting Disney Springs.  You will not be disappointed.

I would love to help you plan a vacation with this wonderful restaurant in your schedule.  Please contact me at tmulkerin@wishesfamilytravel.com
