Atlantis Aquaventure

Not only does Disney Cruise Line offer many exciting experiences onboard, they also offer excursions at scheduled ports of call. All of the excursions can be booked prior to your sailing online or at the Port Adventures desk onboard.

When my family and I sailed last June we decided we wanted to experience the Atlantis Aquaventure at the Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas. The evening prior an envelope was left on the desk of our stateroom with our lunch vouchers, information on where and what time to meet and our wrist bands. The next morning we hopped on the shuttle! My kids we very excited to slide through a tank of sharks, float down the lazy river and splash around at Splasher’s, a children’s water playground featuring water cannons, slides, ropes and more. The Aquaventure is a 141-acre one of a kind water park offering an array of water options for the young and young at heart.

Upon arrival our strategy was to do as much as we could within a few hours. Each of us had our favorites. My son loved the Serpent Slide, a five-story corkscrew slide where guests travel on a tube at high speeds through the core of the Mayan Temple. My husband enjoyed the iconic Leap of Faith, an adventurous 60-foot body slide where riders propel through a clear acrylic tunnel filled with sharks. Lastly, you could find my daughter and I floating along the quarter-mile lazy river. We did have our adventurous moments where we took our inner tubes to The Current where we experienced beautiful lush tropical scenery, rolling waves and rapids for a mile. After spending the entire day outside the best part was being greeted at the port with ice cold water and frozen face cloths.

What’s Included?

On this excursion you will have access to the entire Aquapark. Lunch is included with options such as burgers, salads, wraps pizza and more. If you need a break from the water you can visit the casino, shops or explore the lobby of the resort.

Fun Fact: Atlantis is home to the world’s largest open air marine habitat. You will find 50,000 sea creatures representing 250 species.

Travel Agent Tip: When you arrive at the Atlantis, before doing anything, claim a couple of loungers. We sat at the entrance to the lazy river.

Overall, my family and I felt the Atlantis Aquaventure was worth it, especially if your travel party has multiple age ranges. There is something for everyone!
