Dining on the Norwegian Breakaway

By: Sari PalmeriOur first night on the Norwegian Breakaway we ate at the Haven Restaurant. We only ate there that night because we wanted to explore and try other foods. The menu was a little limited, but everything was delicious. The wait staff was very friendly and welcoming. You can only dine in this specific restaurant if you are staying in a Haven Suite. We love buffets and all the options and our kids loved the “freedom” of getting their own food.We ate most of our meals at the buffet, but also enjoyed dining in and taking food back to eat on the balcony from O’Sheehan’s and the burger joint. O’Sheehan’s is a bar/grill type restaurant. The burger joint has hamburgers, veggie burgers and amazing salads. We went to the hibachi specialty restaurant called Teppanyaki. The food was really good and we all enjoyed the show they put on while cooking. Hibachi type food is one of my favorites so I was so excited. I got a combination steak and shrimp and it did not disappoint. The kids LOVED watching the chef cook right in front of us and putting on his show with the volcano onions and tossing food into his hat.teppanyakiOne night we went to the Cirque De Solei Show and dinner is included. All I can say is wow! Having dinner while watching the show was amazing. The kids were in amazed and so were the adults. We were served a small piece of steak and a few shrimp, so not the grandest of meals, but having dinner with the show made up for it. On the Norwegian Breakaway the show is a Jungle theme. If you go to a specialty dining restaurant and bring your children they are half price. If they order off the regular children’s menu from the main dining room they are free.We spent a lot of extra time at the buffet getting food, snacks and desserts. I have to say we definitely enjoyed the food, especially the coconut ice cream. Yum!We have booked our next vacation on the Norwegian Breakaway and the promotion we have includes money towards the specialty dining restaurants so we will definitely be going to more of them. Stay tuned for more information on them OR join us! I will be hosting and attending a group cruise…. It is May 22 – 20, 2016 on the Norwegian Breakaway from New York City. We will be sailing on a 7-night cruise to Bermuda! If you’d like more information about the group cruise or any other Norwegian Cruise Line vacation, contact me at sari@wishesfamilytravel.com.
