Fairytale Dreams and How They Come True

Tiffini HensleySeptember 27, 2016imageI met my husband while I was still in high school, and although I had grown up loving all things Disney, he had not.  When he ended up proposing my freshmen year of college, I knew the perfect way to celebrate! We were going to go to Walt Disney World so that I could show him how wonderful the world of Disney truly is.  We went over spring break, and although the parks were crowded, the trip lit a spark that led to him loving Walt Disney World as well!  After that first trip, we knew that we wanted to have a Cinderella themed wedding.  I already knew that I had found my Prince Charming, and now it was time to show everyone else!We spent three years planning our wedding, and added Disney touches wherever we could, starting with our invitations.  For our venue, we chose a stone cottage that resembled a castle in our hometown of Kansas City.  The cottage came complete with a side courtyard filled with willow trees and flowers; the perfect backdrop for a Disney princess wedding!  Inside the cottage, there was plenty of room for our reception, where we carried our Cinderella theme throughout the food, cake and decorations.  Our food included melons and fruit carved into beautiful flowers, while our cake was topped with Cinderella’s Castle and carriage. Each table was topped with mirrored glass that held bowls of lilies, surrounded by bubbles. The favors at each setting included tiny glass slippers filled with candies.  Since the wedding was outside in July, we also made fans for the guests that were made to look like regal shields, with the wedding date. During the ceremony itself, our ring bearer even carried a blue velvet pillow with Cinderella’s slipper sitting on top.
Although we did not honeymoon at Disney, we did spend our first wedding anniversary at Walt Disney World.  It was a fabulous trip that was made purely magical by celebrating our anniversary dinner at Cinderella’s Royal Table inside the Castle.  It was amazing to see the detail that went into creating the restaurant and experience, including Cinderella’s tiny mice friends on the railing and a suit of armor!  The evening was the perfect way to celebrate our happily ever after!imageNow 13 years later, we’ve celebrated many achievements at Disney, from birthdays to a babymoon, from reunions to graduations!  I’m proud to say that my love of all things Disney has rubbed off on my Prince Charming….. and our little Prince too!imageIf you’d like to start planning your magical trip to any of the Disney destinations, please contact me at Tiffini@wishesfamilytravel.com or visit my FaceBook page at www.facebook.com/thensley.wft to see many more tips and pictures of the Disney Parks.
